TLDR: It's trash. Game runs like crap, there's microtransactions, and the best gear/abilities are unavailable until way too long in the game.

I really wanted to like this game. I know that's a pretty cliché thing to say, but it's true. I love Warhammmer 40k's setting, and it just fits really well in this type of game. 'Space Marine' is a game that proves that there can be good 40k games made. So why don't i like Eternal Crusade?

First of all, and most importantly: The game runs really, really poorly. Whether you agree or disagree with me on my other points, this we can all agree on: a game should not dip under 30 FPS on the low settings when when running it on a gtx 1070.

Second: Microtransactions. I find it incredibly alarming that a studio's first priority nowadays, instead of making sure the game runs and plays great, is to implement a cash shop. Why should I have to pay for anything extra, when I've already paid for the game? At this point it just feels like they're trying to milk the few players they have for just a few more bucks. Sad.

Last, but not least: the apparent hate for new players. I'm not talking about the all in all friendly community, but rather about the developer. You have to grind to get any new guns or equipment, almost disproportionally so. If you start a new character, the grind begins anew. This alone would be frustrating for any new player, but that's not all. You can level up outside of the matches, which grants you permanent combat bonuses. long story short: any high level player will stomp an newbie 100% of the time.

I could also talk about how the combat is too chaotic and unbalanced, how the levels are unintuïtive and a drag to navigate, or how abou the developers consistently break promises, but this litlle rant has gone on long enough.

If you do like this game, good on you. You have a way higher pain tolerance than me.
