Beat this on Xbox game pass back at launch and just started getting an itch to play again, and damn, still an absolute belter, a game about Pinocchio of all things has no right to go THIS hard and be this fun, I struggled with my first play through, but since having gotten well into Sekiro and Ninesols, and while I understand its been re balanced I'm absolutely STORMING through the game, and you know what, its prefect because I want to finally face down the nameless puppet, since I chose the bad ending by accident first time and couldn't face another play through at that point, bring it on I'm psyched.

UPDATE: Oh beat that puppet (insert rude word here) and managed to get it on my first go, but DAMN that thing was a hell of a fight, great stuff and cannot wait for the dlc :D

Mighty boot, the video game.

For the tiny price, I had such a good time with this weirdly nostalgic thing. It feels like Castlevania (one of the good ones) mixed with Mario 64, Dark Souls, Ico and probably some other stuff too. Short but the price was right. So many secrets in the controls alone.

I am going to review by responding to one of the negative reviews that stuck out to me, they complained that the game was bad because the last few levels were basically impossible to them, having finished the game recently, I simply did not understand how you could come to that conclusion, they are more difficult than most earlier levels sure (as they should be) but only took me a handful of turns to beat them (even scoring an ace first try on the last level, yay me)

That's when I checked their time, they had about half the play time I did, whilst making it to the end as I had, and that's when it clicked, they were playing Neon White like a "normal" game, play a level till you beat the level, move on, and as such had made it to the end of the game, with the absolute bare minimum of built up skills, knowledge of tricks and muscle memory to be able to enjoy the last few levels which are, to be fair, very unforgiving but that kind of shouldn't matter, since if you screw up, you'll be restarting the level anyway.

See, if you play this with mere completion in mind, you'll never get what the game is going for, Neon White is about besting yourself, its about figuring out the little tricks and ideas that get you ahead of your last time. With that in mind, I could not help my self but to acquire every single ace medal in the game, not because I'm "that good" but because it was so damn fun to do.

If you make it to the end of the game, with anything less than all golds/ace medals (or at least attempted to do so), I seriously believe you just aren't playing the game right, and will think its bad, but if you master every level, by the end you will be a speed god who barely if ever even touches the ground, and that's when they game is ludicrously fun, and those last levels are just there to allow you to demonstrate that mastery of the game.

10/10 the story line is mid and the voice acting is meh. Best game evar!

STOP OPTIMISING THE FUN OUT OF THE GAME

EDIT( I still think its a fun game and it is worth the asking price, but those dlc are FAR to expensive for what they are and I am frankly shocked how far the other way this developer went in terms of value, the standalone game, is chocked full of value, but the dlc costs nearly 20% of the price in some cases, for a singular cabinet. Ridiculous considering the number that come with.)

Its really good, but if you are spending every second you can doing the laundry you are going to find the game extremely tedious, its boring cause you aren't supposed to do it more than a few times, and its not even that profitable once you have a few machines and you have done some goals,

How about try this... imagine you had a room full of fun arcade machines, and a few baskets of laundry that literally no one actually cared if you did. Would you do the laundry then?

Only if you were out of your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mind.

The games good, although I think the time played count is wrong... pretty sure I only played for five minutes soooo...
