gods damn it larian the only bad part of the game is that it ends :( but it was one hell of a ride

Exploring a new section of the station i havent been in before
go for a medkit and psi hypo
hypo turns out to be a mimic
reflex smack it mid air with my trusty wrench
mimic ragdolls and flies through and shatters a window to a blocked room next to me
it immediately changes in a chair in an attempt to lose me
dive through the window shattering whats left of the window and smashing the chair wanna be as i land

After leaving a negative review and simply walking away from this game quite some time ago I decided to give it a second shot. I figured surely things should be much better after all this time and to an extent it is. A couple of maps seem to favor the killer heavily but the rest seem fairly balanced. Each side has their own powerful perks that give a bit of an edge in different ways. there is a lot more variety than there were which is nice to keep tihngs interesting. The community doesnt appear to be as toxic but toxicity is still there. (like you'll ever completely get rid of it all) People still leave but no where near as much if at all. Still Peer to Peer (lame) but whatever conections are far mor stable. I haven't had a game yet where i was DC'd mid match but i have had a few lobby join attempts fail. (pause your porn you fools) Matchmaking also seems to have improved greatly. Most games have been pretty balanced with only a few being either total wipes or easy escapes. Microtransactions (eh) but only for cosmetics which is fine. Love the new shard system that lets you learn teachable perks without having to grind a character for it. Wish it was easier to get shards though cause it feels like your total level progresses a little slow. People are more altruistic than before and killers are far less campy. I still have no idea what some of the 'status effects' mean but when i stop being lazy I'll probably google them. Maybe some explanation can be added to the corresponding perks. Case in point broken and exposed. I had no idea that broken meant you're always one hit and that exposed make you one hit so when taking those perks kinda messed me up. Matchmaking is faster than before but I'm sure thats because of a larger player base now than from before. Survivors time are pretty faster generally under a min to find a game where killer you're looking at about a min or 2. I find myself enjoying both survivor and killer but with more time as survivor due to my point investments.

tl;dr better than before give it a shot

gameplay and visuals? yes. story? i dont honestly care. matchmaking... no.

how can you get half of the game right but completely mess up the other?

give some modding tools with workshop and we can make this game great again

never had any problems that most ppl seem to have
(Nvidia GTX 980ti AMP 6Gb dedicated with intel i5-6600k and 16Gb of ram 64bit system on windows 10 if that helps)

hopefully this large 4Gb patch fixes those video performance issues for everyone else is experiencing

pick it up when you can (but waiting for a sale never hurts)

solid 8.5/10 imo
