This game is adorable. I loved the world, the story, the little bird protagonist. By the end I was running on pure spite. The game respects your time if you want it to yet there are plenty of collectables to find if you want 100%. The combat, broadly, is very fair and any damage you take feels like your fault.

By the end of the game, however, it becomes quite apparent that the lingering hit-boxes and loose controls hold this game back. The final boss in particular feels like it should have been a victory lap if it wasn't a chaotic mess with you getting hit by things that aren't even on screen anymore.

There's a lot of love in this mod. Likewise, there's quality voice acting, story telling, and innovation with puzzle design.

tl;dr: It's grittier Earth Defence Force with more core game play jank and more peripheral content like your own star destroyer that you can upgrade and a sort of battle-pass.

They had a rough launch and they have been addressing issues. There's more to do, but they're working on it. They did, in fact, fix servers. They fixed many of the crashes. They fixed lack of rewards.

They still need to fix (currently):
- The balance of weapons in general
- The bugged spawn rates
- Over-designed sci-fi targeting reticles that are sometimes misaligned and hard to see through.

I'd rather them focus on fixes than new content. They've said they need to do both or lose their players.

One big risk is Sony as a publisher. They tried to change the requirements a couple days prior to this review and only just reversed their decision... for now.

It's a cute homage to the point and clicks of yesteryear. I haven't yet finished it, but it's oozing with effort.

Honestly, just a really fun game that felt like a passion project from those involved. I also appreciated seeing fan art featured in the game itself. And, of course, a solid soundtrack for a music game.

Be aware that not using the proprietary cable means you will likely need to play in microphone mode.
The game will not play back your guitar when using microphone mode; on the assumption that you are using an acoustic, I suppose.
When playing in microphone mode, it can and will change your microphone settings. Changing out of exclusive mode for that mic changes it but also makes the game extremely unstable, even if the microphone you are using for the game is still in exclusive mode. I found this out the hard way while trying to be able to chill and jam while hanging with friends in discord.

Look, it's a souls game. If you like souls games, you'll probably like Elden Ring. If you're anything like me, the co-op mod strictly improves the game. Mods almost strictly improve this dumpster fire of a series.

Yes, Elden Ring is open world.
Yes, the world is empty and the "Legacy Dungeons" are more interesting.
Yes, it has crafting, no it's not relevant.
No, you don't need multiple playthroughs to get every item.
No, the game is not fair.
Yes, it has co-op contingent on making yourself eligible for invasion by the sweatiest, whiniest, cheesiest, most entitled pricks the community has to offer.
Yes, this is considered a feature by the community.
No, I don't know why.
Yes, there is a wide variety of builds.
No, they aren't all equal; only some are even viable and some are game-breakingly unfun.
Yes, the item descriptions are often incorrect or misleading.
Yes, it feels interesting to explore.
Yes, there are hidden quests galore that, no, the game will not tell you about.
Yes, it uses Easy Anticheat which, yes, massively degrades the performance.
Yes, the default mouse and keyboard bindings are unintuitive and, yes, you can rebind them.
No, you can't ride your horse with friends.
Yes, your friends are banished after most major encounters.
Yes, you can leave messages for other players.
No, you cannot type these messages.
Yes, "Knight" is censored to "k***ht".

The co-op mod allows you to set your own rules for multiplayer experience and improves the performance of the game. It lets everyone ride horses together. It allows everyone to travel and progress together. It makes the game actually co-operative.

One of my favourite point and click adventure games. The art and atmosphere work well and, importantly, I managed to play through the game without a guide, save for getting different endings. Some of this is puzzles having multiple solutions, some of this is simply well designed puzzles.

It runs well and has pretty solid net-code. The gun-play is about what you'd expect for Halo.

One problem is that it absolutely does not respect your time or wallet. The monetisation makes the stereotypical mobile game look cheap.
Another is there are basic game-modes missing from custom games (like fiesta) but that may well be remedied with time.
