The following review is my own. Though I have received a free copy of this game, I have not been paid to write a review in the game's favor. This is 100% my own experience and the resulting "happy energy" after playing this cute little game is truly genuine.

WHAT IS THIS GAME ABOUT?

"Blast, dodge, and charge your way through an array of classic 1980's Data East arcade machines. 1-4 Players can battle against time-honored characters in a nostalgia-inducing collage of retro set-pieces from BurgerTime, Karate Champ, Lock ‘N Chase, Heavy Barrel, Side Pocket, and Bad Dudes!"

• You play 13 different arcade games, invading them all with your same little character (Invading all of them just like in the 2012 "Wreck-It-Ralph" movie). Your objective is to grab the sack of cash and take it to the "Bank" which happens to be in one of these arcade machine's game. Your character has a weapon that shoots colored tennis ball-looking bullets, and you run around also shooting up "enemies" that are specific to that game (or maybe they also invaded each other's games.
  
  
• You can collect different weapons that produce more bullets at once or faster bullets, or even a laser death ray you can fire across the screen. I especially love that laser now, it's so satisfying to "TAG" the enemy bot or HUMAN that you're playing with when they are doing so good against you, lol. That's another thing too---The bots even on easy mode are not stupid, or pushovers like some AI on other games' "easy" mode----they will make you work for your points! The levels include a PAC MAN-like, A Pool Table (yes, you shoot balls, at other balls, and those other balls run into each other, and you pocket them either into pockets or at your enemy team and just laugh it up at their hilarious "death" sounds.
  
  
• You can collect different power-ups that make you faster and speed your way across the map!
  
  
• The enemy team bots are just hilarious to watch (as you try to get them too!) they sometimes run into other enemies that completely demolish them, they make a funny K.O. (or death) sound and then "respawn" in the form of stacked burger ingredients until they come back to life in their corner, where they start again.

PERSONAL NOTES

• I never thought I'd love a pixel game again — I was expecting this game to be a cheap remake of some LONG-ago expired game of decades past. BOY was I wrong.
  
  
• I sincerely thought that I couldn't have this much fun with pixel games ever since the late 00's. I am not a fan of pixel games, but this game has reinstated my faith in the human race — of pixel games. This game isn't just some cheap cash grab, it's a cute but amazing mashup of Arcade games with modern graphical stability.
  
  
• "I am beyond words amazed at the ridiculously awesome job the developers did to make this game...WORK. The idea is original in my opinion, and something about the formula for this game just is perfect. This is such a fresh take on arcade games in general, you would do well to buy this game for someone you know will play it with you. I kid you not, I'm going to buy this for my group of friends who love these kinds of games and I basically can't wait to laugh myself into a soft coma."
  
  
• This game just might clear your depression for a little while — it's that funny!

FINAL VERDICT — "RECOMMENDED."

"Heavy Burger stands to be one of the best "Casual Couch Fun" games I've played all year. If they add new machines (like a bunch more) this is a serious contender for the best-hidden gem of 2018 hands down. This is an instant buy. If anything, buy it for the laughs you'll have when you play by yourself, a friend, or seriously the entire family. It's past 2 am and I just woke up my wife with all my laughing!"
