Randomly generated maps completely eliminate the point of exploring in the game; you just find the quest location and move on to the next map. The developers also refuse to ban cheaters.

Probably the best online game you can play right now. The game requires a monthly subscription (although there is a Free Trial), and you need to register on their website. Some people have issues with the Steam version, but I've never encountered any, so I can't comment on that.
Only weak part of the game is the base game (bad/no story, bad voice acting, boring dungeons), it feels like the real story starts after the base game. When you reach the first expansion Heavensward it's already great but Shadowbringers/Endwalker are peak JRPG stories and one of the best videogame expansions period. And you can play the game as a singleplayer RPG if you want because there is basically no grinding for levels or gear.
The music is also great with a mix of rearrangements of classic FF music and a lot of brand new beautiful music and songs. Graphics are OK but there will be a graphical update with the next expansion that will fix the current issues like low resolution textures.
The amount of content in this game is incredible but you can just ignore it and play it just for the main story. Either way I can only recommend this game.

Sadly the game is now filled with bots grinding the free battle pass.

incredibly shallow game lacking any depth (even compared to Rome 1), I would recommend modded Rome 1 or Imperator Rome instead

Tip: Press ALT+X, in the DLSS 3.0 settings switch to Custom and set Super Resolution Mode to Performance or Ultra Performance for 60 fps on a 30 series nvidia cards.

Couldn't reach population 30 to unlock a healer because my villagers got sick and died

Gave it another chance after Victoria 3 release and I must say the latest update made the game much better. Shame paradox abandoned it afterwards.
