Incredibly creative for a game based on dank memes. 420/69

People complain about the story in this game, and it IS bad (but not in the way people tend to say). But the real crime is that this game is all style no substance. A complete lack of balance makes the game painfully easy to the point where I get sleepy playing it. It's really cool and pretty when things blow up, but that's it.

UNTIL, you beat the game? Custom modifiers after the first play through improve the experience by a lot, but it's such a bad structure to make someone play the game on a single strict mode (which is way too easy) before unlocking custom difficulty.

It's hard to recommend to anyone unfamiliar with the franchise or at least genre. While I'm enjoying the game a lot with custom difficulty tweaks(mayhem mode), playing through a ~15 hour campaign (that's with no side quests) that's mind-numbingly easy with a bad story is a huge barrier of entry for an endgame that I'm sure tons of players never bother playing. The people I'd recommend it to probably already own it.

I don't know if I feel more like a drug addict or an abuse victim, but I bought this because I love the game so much and was so excited to play the post game! I even looked in the achievements to see what I hadn't done yet, and was excited for whatever the "Big Swell" would be! Then I finish this beautiful game only to learn that the POST GAME IS PAYWALLED. I got this on sale, but I feel wrong even buying it...

Fun game if you enjoy experimenting with things and doing stuff to see what happens, trying to break things

Such a unique blend of genres in its style, mechanics, and music. Kind of like a combination of Max Payne and Hotline Miami to me. The pacing and cues of both the music and level design sync together to create a perfect experience.

Is the Main Campaign story as good as Witch Queen? No, it's an 80s Action Movie that's fun and maybe not serious enough, but truly nowhere near as bad as people would have you believe.

Is almost every other aspect of the game included with this expansion any good? Absolutely, and the community will see that once they get over their hate train for the story.

An expansion is more than its campaign's story, so it should be reviewed that way

This game is more than just a cat game. But the cat is very nice :) .

I get they don't want to split the playerbase, but it's kind of messed up that I can edit a review that I did for CSGO when it's for CS2 now, and they're not really reviewing the same game.
