I've had a good day and a half of play on and off. I would say if you waited for this game as I have for 8 years you will still enjoy it in the current status it's in. I've had a couple crashes during tutorial going into the bandit hideout but within 8 hours that was fixed. I've had some loading screen freezes/crashes. These are annoying but nothing major.

As for single player content it has a lot of room for improvement. A lot of dialogue screens are incomplete. It feels like there isn't a lot going on in the world except for many looters and bandits however the map is a lot bigger than Warband and I just have to get used to it. I'm really excited to see the devs fill out the world as the structure is there for the most part. I'd say a huge help is to learn all the keys first; if you're expecting the same as warband I'd say it is similar but also very different. The game doesn't really tell you what to do so if you've never played a Mount and Blade game before you might be lost in the beginning. Give it time; the game isn't easy but it's not difficult either, just need to make smart choices.

Multiplayer is more fun than singleplayer in my opinion. It seems to be more complete. All three modes I have played feel like death match at the moment, as every player is just out to battle royale every single other player on the field.

The opportunity is there for this game. Unless your patience can handle the bugs, crashes, and lack of detailed gameworld at the moment I would say give it a couple weeks or months for the devs to fix and fill some things. The game is early access and everyone should be very aware of it. It is not a complete game so let us not judge it like it is.

Edit:
After a little bit more game play I found a character who is voiced and it really helps add story to the game. I am now on my way to building my own imperial kingdom. A lot more quests pop up that seem to be different and a lot more lords are riding around and not so hard to find. I think this game will work out its kinks quickly. After last night's update my game hasn't crashed once.
