Been playing since CBT in 2015.. still good just wish i could use my CBT flag on my steam account :)

Good value for money. lol.

Firstly after reading through what I've written I realise it's not so much review and more airing thoughts but think of it as a review of what to expect from the people playing the game lol.

I just wanted to mention my only complaints are against the community mainly for their treatment of Aircraft Carrier players - lots of people blame them for not spotting targets or not helping when they were killed, but you can only send 1 group of planes 1 direction at a time and not everyone gets air support in battle.. sometimes the planes are busy helping someone else and it's not the CVs (CV = Carrier) fault you get killed, perhaps.. just maybe you shouldn't have put yourself into that position where you knew you would be surrounded by enemy ships or if you had no vision of anyone around you, perhaps the clever thing to do would be regroup with your team rather than push on into areas you had no intel because you're a DD hero (DD = Destroyer) .. lol.. just saying, sometimes you 're just unlucky and that's just how it is. People need to stop blaming the CV and take responsibility for making the bad choices, especially when they clearly have no idea how carrier gameplay works, on the flip side though I also want to complain about the low IQ Carriers that sit still the entire game.. They are literally a giant neon sign to destroyers flashing brightly saying aircraft carrier this direction all the DD has to do is follow the planes home but i'd hazard a guess of around 80% maybe even higher - even at tier 8-10 the CV will remain stationary because people buy the premium carriers and have no clue how to play CV..

To be totally fair; I understand the toxicity against CV players in high tier games because you're expected to know how to play your role because most people have earned their ships by grinding relentlessly to get to the higher tiers but then I also see regular non-premium CV doing stupid things I mean it's the same with all the tiers of premium ship i guess, you can buy the fancy ships but you can't buy the skill required to play them so I think they should have a restriction that unless you have a non-premium ship of the same tier and class as what you wanna buy, then you shouldn't be able to buy into that tier and class because you're going to be f**king useless to the rest of your team..

Air Superiority is what ultimately made battleships redundant, but this community lives in an alternate reality that think Carriers have no place here and with Submarines in development, I think the importance of the carrier in team composition will be potentially the most sought after role along with Destroyer for their Anti-Submarine capability..

Anyway I guess I should give thoughts on the game itself for review purposes so I've been running it on highest settings since Closed Beta back in 2015, I built this system in 2014 so it's pretty outdated for 2020 standards but it's still alive and kicking so yeah with everyone maxed out the GTX 970, 16gb ram and i7-4790 runs it at a stable 75 fps - potentially more, buy my monitor is only 60hz so it only shows 75fps.. and even then it's probably only 60 but you get the idea.. graphically, it's a very pretty game and the sounds are great too. Recently WG released an original soundtrack for purchase in the store as well, I looked at reviews and people say it's got some great tunes but I haven't really taken any notice as I turn the music off in-game because I like to listen to the music of battle haha.. No, seriously. I have 35-40% hearing loss from work so I turn the music off to hear torpedo warnings LOL xD.. Great Game, Despite my earlier rant, the community is mostly good too. Lots of good advice to be given if you ask for help or how to play a certain ship someone will always give tips even from the enemy team, but take that with a grain of salt because sometimes they will try to trip you up to win the battle haha, I've made a few friends like that though, they lied in battle then messaged me privately after the battle and gave me actual tips lol.

Anyway yeah umm whatelse.. Premium ships, you'll see them a lot, people buy them and have absolutely no idea how to play them and you can usually get an easy kill because you can't buy experience lol some of them are significantly harder to kill though because of the ship design and/or stats it possesses usually though the more common premium ships are fairly balanced with their regular non-premium same tier/class they will just excel at one particular thing, like say the Kirov tier 5 cruiser for example, it has exceptional 180mm guns for a cruiser, can shoot 19km and it's a great ship sure, 19km is insane where most cruisers are looking at 14-16km at best and its got torpedoes to boot.. but the balance comes into effect when you shoot that poor kirov it's got paper thin armour and the torpedoes are only 4km so you can usually get some good critical hits on it with high explosive shells, armour piercing will go straight through it though. The ships are balanced like that, everything can be countered by something. Each nation has different play styles and there's a ton of guides on youtube to learn how to play but I don't recommend following a Streamer / YouTuber to learn to play the game, most of the time I see those people and they know what they're doing I'm not saying don't learn from them at all, but most of the time they're in high tier ships and the gameplay is very different from lower tiers, you have more HP and higher damage output at higher tiers you can take a beating and I've seen people try rushing objectives at tier 4-6 and get deleted and then they get angry at the team for not helping them survive a stupid situation they should not have put themselves into to start with.. just because they watched someone do it on youtube.. Experience is the best teacher in this game, everyone plays differently, I play my battleships like a Cruiser/ Destroyer because I enjoy zooming in to the bow guns and firing in first person like im on the ship, but i wouldn't recommend people doing that unless you have experience playing because you lose your peripheral vision, my map is enlarged to take up 1/4 of my screen and made the background transparent so i can see whats going on nearby and behind me and it makes the game super interesting for me personally.. i love using my secondary guns and getting into a knife fight with other battleships, I love being outnumbered and out gunned and having a destroyer threat nearby, knowing there could be a wave of torpedoes coming out of the fog.. and 90% of people will call you names for doing stupid stuff like that because it's not meta play.. battleships need to this and this and this and blah blah blah..like people laugh at me when I shoot at DDs from over 15km but it's because I have years of experience using the same crosshair "type 10" a DD at full speed going relatively straight if i put his ship between the 18 and 22 second marker, atleast 1 shell will hit him, because its a static crosshair, it applies to any distance over 10km really.. line them up, put the ship around 18-20s and boom, smoke appears while they recover or using torpedo bombers to kill them, same thing I know how fast the ships go and i know how fast my torpedo is and I can hit them with torpedo 7/10 times, theres always a chance they dodge sure, but a torpedo hit guarantees atleast 50-75% of their HP in one hit as opposed to trying my luck with rockets which might take 15-20%..

Eh run out of space, point is.. experience is the best teacher, youtube can only give you the basics and styles of play, you need to add your own flair though. Im a knife fighter BB and torpedo ninja DD for example. Just whatever you do, don't be one of those BB that sit at the back sniping the whole game, you have HP and secondary guns, PTFO. Goodluck..
