The game has a fishing minigame... after playing FFXV I joked with my friends that I would judge videogames based on their fishing minigames. Some time passed and I decided that my childhood favorite Animal Crossing would be the baseline... It's simple yet uniquely challenging (due to the time of day, which uses irl time of day, and weather requirements). So... how do I feel about RDR2's fishing?

Well it's good. It's not on par with CotW: The Angler in terms of realism and it doesn't have Animal Crossing's weird complexity. However, it is more involved than Animal Crossing. Choosing your placement, cast distance, and bait is important. Once a fish is on, you do have to manage your reeling. Constant reeling will result in loss of the fish. So that's a few over AC. It's not as oddly enjoyable as FFXV's fishing though... it can feel tedious. In a game that isn't a sim like CotW: The Angler, the 5 minute+ fight to slowly reel a fighting fish is annoying. Then I'm rewarded with a 1lb blue gill... I can go out irl and catch 3 blue gill in the time it took me to catch a blue gill in this game... Thus I have to take points off.

This game sits somewhere between Animal Crossing and FFXV. As for living out my cowboy fantasy, I'm from Texas... I own a cowboy hat and boots irl... I like this game a lot.

Gameplay loop exists... Runs fine on an ultrawide 1440p with a Zotac RTX2070 Super Mini and an i5-9k... It's a 40k themed horde shooter. You can shoot and stab things... more fun with friends. Thankfully I have friends, but even without them I can enjoy a good session of play. I can ignore the cosmetic store... because that's what it is; a cosmetic store.
I didn't hype myself up on reading articles and promises. Kinda just saw that this game was coming and though "neat, I'll see how it is when it launches." I expected Vermintide 40k and it's what I got. It is wrong to promise and then not deliver. Many people will point that out and give this game a negative review for that. That doesn't change that it is a good game... because the main gameplay loop does exist and that is what is fun about this game.

Early Access Review
I've enjoyed watching this product evolve since November of 2019, when I found it. It's a product of love and it shows. The dev team is all about making exactly what they want even if someone else doesn't agree with them.
Everything is very well done using both available information and first hand accounts. The tank models are legit actual vehicles. The team has enlisted the help of individuals to go out and get enough photos to create 3d scans of actual vehicles. The entire project has been a blast to be apart of. I'm excited to see that it's out in early access and can guarantee it'll only get better through the early access phase.

The water texture is kinda meh, but this game reminded me I need to renew my license and actually use the 2 rigged up rods in my livingroom. The gameplay is solid as one should expect. This game is a 9.5/10 from me simply because I can't go fly fishing. Most of my issues are minor gripes, and not anything that needs to be addressed.

Idk maybe people should grow up. Just because a game isn't the perfect product you're looking for in your world of imagining game devs are supposed to be making the game you're dreaming of, doesn't mean a game isn't good. ♥♥♥♥ off and learn to make the game you're dreaming of instead of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on decent products.

There's a big tortoise with a pontiff's hat. That should be enough to convince you.

Seems the issues are getting fixed. This is in fact BIG Dark Souls. Thus it is good. We got; Dying because I was greedy. Swearing because it's not my fault I suck, it's the game! Small dogs. Big dogs. Tortoise dogs! Horrible desync on invaders (CLASSIC!). Rocks that say stuff in funny voices. Katanas! AND YEP THAT'S RIGHT THE FRICKIN CORVIDS ARE BACK! Why are there so many crows? Why do I keep dying to crows? I HATE CROWS!

Compared to FH4, it's better on controller and wheel (Tried it with my Logitecg G29). However, I cannot recommend due to the severe lack of Lancia.

A very simple game at the moment, but reminiscent of Rimworld mixed with Dawn of Man. Can definitely see this being one of my staple games once it gets a bit more development time.

This is a good game if you like fishing. Requires patience as like any free game, there's a progression system that takes a long time if you don't pay for premium. The DLC reflects this as most of it is bait and rods plus a pass and some premium time. I definitely prefer the DLC policy and whole deal with theHunter: Call of the Wild a lot more, but that's not free to play (and it's hunting not fishing). Would rather pay once for access to a fishing spot, and be able to use it rather than paying credits for a license and travel. It is what it is though, and it is a free game. It's how they make their money.
Overall it's a good fishing game to just chill with.

I know I'm not playing it on a 500inch 8926734k Flatscreen 34543324wer34242hz triangular prism hyper gamer Asus monitor, but 1080p max graphics on an only slightly overclocked RTX 2070 Super Mini is doing just fine. There's a few frame drops here and there when there's an over abundance of small reflective objects, but overall it's been pretty good.
On the subject of bugs. I really haven't run into many. Had my health bar decide to only read 0 until I reloaded the save. Had a lady playing a guitar with no guitar in her hands. That's really it. My game also decided it didn't like Microsoft Teams being open in the background and the game constantly crashed until I removed Teams. Apart from that... not much issue.

DOESN'T NEED ORIGIN! Big plus.

I don't understand the bad reviews though.... People are complaining it's not a good sim when Star Wars has some of the worst space "physics" in any science fiction universe. I also didn't have any issue setting up my HOTAS. I got it set up and the controls felt just fine. Even now with people telling me there's a deadzone I don't fell a deadzone. All my bindings are fine.

Before the storm of "well you probably just don't play flight/space sims", I play DCS, IL-2, Elite Dangerous, and Star Citizen. I don't know what people were expecting but this is exactly what I expected from a Star Wars starfighter game.

Multiplayer requires a decent amount of team work it seems. I find I can do well but can't win alone in Fleet Battle. Teams lose when they try to lemming one at a time into the enemy. So that's a plus in my book. A game that puts emphasis on teamplay.

Oh yeah... and as far as the campaign goes, I do have an issue. The AI does not focus the player at all. Definitely does not.
