mildly interesting story, not scary at all so the monster sequences are more annoying than anything else

Very refreshing RPG where you aren't the incredibly powerful "chosen one". While combat is tedious and annoying in the beginning, investing time in training the mechanics of combat as well as leveling relevant skills will make you stronger quickly. This is a nice way of handling the progression from a poor blacksmith's son to a knight. The game is equally realistic in many other aspects which makes for an immersive experience. The soundtrack is alright, nothing noteworthy, but certainly fitting to the setting.

However, the game is too ambitious. There is an abundance of side quests but few of them are interesting or relevant to the story / worldbuilding, and some are bugged. The game is rough around the edges and playing it makes you feel like the developers wanted the game to be too many things at once. The main story is good (while ironically being one of the only very unrealistic things in the game), but there are only a few noteworthy characters (Radzig and Hans come to mind). I never felt connected to any other characters which made my interactions with them feel somewhat pointless.

Still a really good gaming experience.
