TL;DR 4/10 that I can recommend to people with a decent rig and enjoyment for mindless grinding games.

I enjoyed this game a bunch in the first half. The gameplay was interesting, mostly flashy but you can make it your own a bit by putting limitations on it.
The Progression of crafting and upgrading your abilities was fun but felt a tad bit slow at times.
It was fun to see a retelling of the story and actually being able to play some of the other hunters of the story was a nice surprise to me.
What made me turn to a low rating was the last quater to third of the game. Three of the last four main story chapters (where there are 10 in total) suffer a lot of being to lenghty with repetitive, copy and pasted locations and enemies, sometimes making you fight the same miniboss 3 times within a span of 10-15 minutes. Especially the last chapter also has a huge problem with checkpoint placement imo making it possible to loose 15-30 minutes of game time depending on where you died on your way. While I usually enjoy more challenging games this made it even more repetitive and therefore boring since it already suffered a lot from repeated content.
There were also consitant performance issues even on a high end rig. It also didn't matter to turn down the settings (I didn't go all the way to low). The game still chugged regularly which means I really can't recommend this game to mid or low end builds.
Aside from that bad stuff there is still a somewhat enjoyable mindless grinding simulator during and after the main chapters. I will probably get back to this game sometime just to turn my brain off and do some flashy combat.

I'm switching this review from recommended to not recommended every five minutes. The game loves to switch between the "I love this game, I hate this game" regularly.

The definition of Mid

Have played for only around 2.5 hours so far but the game feel amazing. Combining skills to combo already has such great execution. Can't wait for more.
Mood, Music and visuals are beautiful

Slain and slaughtered too many times. I will need a long quiet time away from this game.

All the sweat lords from PayDay 2 are damaging their game by downvoting this.
Needs some love for sure but rn it is still full of nice challenges and entertaining gameplay.

To this day one of my favorite RPGs.
Story, gameplay, sidequests, voice acting all of it is fun and endeering to me and encourages replayability for me.
You can have a bad time with bad game optimization but I never encountered any annoying or gamebreaking issues.
