Edit: So I beat the DLC, here are my thoughts.

Starting with the world, it's really fun to explore everything it has to offer. It feels rewarding, and the scenery is jaw-dropping. There are a couple of places, however, that seem barren, like the Abyssal Woods and Jagged Peak. Other than those, I think they're okay in terms of loots.

Then there are the bosses. While some of them are definitely overtuned (like the last boss's cross swing attack, which seems impossible to dodge without Bloodhound Step. Unless you get lucky, other than that, many bosses seem have long combo which troublesome for some build. But overall I enjoyed the boss fight (certain people may find it frustating, and I can understand that).

Then new weapon type, damn, Fromsoft really nailed this one, because of this, I always tempted to respec my stat to try out all the new toys, my favorite is martial arts, it's feel so fluid and really fun to use.

Finally, I want to address the scaling system. It seems like many people have missed this, as I've seen numerous complaints about getting one-shot by mobs or bosses. Here's the secret: Scadutree. I maxed out Scadutree blessings, and it doubled my stats from the base game. Heck, even the last boss needed 4-6 attacks to kill me. Also dont forget to use damage negations item or buff such as talisman or damage negation incantation, those things really help you.
