Overall a really fun game if you're into:
  • Mining and being a dwarf
  • Killing hordes of bugs, but let's be honest, they're monsters with how big they can get
  • Basic, and I mean BASIC parkour
  • Cool music that makes you feel like you're in the midst of the fray
  • Guns that are satisfying to use, and that stands for every class. Even the "support," class
  • Getting drunk
  • Did I mention getting drunk?

The levels you can choose from are all similar in the fact that within each level you'll be killing, mining, and extracting at the end. Where they differ is in the primary objective. I can personally say that each primary objective is fulfilling and fun to complete.

Alongside your primary objective, there's always a secondary objective that is optional. Don't feel like spending another 5-10 minutes completing the side quest? Then don't! But if you do, there's always a respectable bonus that comes with it.

What I love about this game is that you're rewarded for almost everything you do. Most, if not all, actions will garner you XP, money, resources, and / or challenge points. It actually makes you feel like you're being compensated for your work, which is VERY fitting since you're working for a mining corporation.

The challenge points system is very well crafted too. Challenges aren't spaced apart by massively unreasonable jumps in progression.
Example:
Collect 12 acorns! Most games would have you collect the 12 acorns and then the next tier would be collect x50 or some obscene amount.
This game has jumps, but they may just be an additional x5 to the prior amount. This means that most of the time, you're completing challenges just by playing the game like you would normally.

Lastly, the basic parkour. It's nothing to rant and rave about, for sure. But what I especially like is that every class has its own way of getting around (or through) obstacles. One has a zip-line, another has a grappling hook, another has a gun that LITERALLY CREATES platforms (think PREY w/ the glue gun), and the last can drill through walls and blow obstacles to smithereens. These are basic means of getting to your objective, but ALL are satisfying to use.

TL;DR

Mine ore, collect jewels, kill hordes of bugs, be a LITERAL dwarf in SPACE, and get drunk. What's not to love?

Amazing. Never mind the amazing game play, the dialogue alone is worth $60. That sweet Resident Evil dialogue.

It allows a nice mix of easy combat with lax building sessions, all whilst playing nice ambient music. Definitely a must-play if you've played games such as Minecraft or Starbound!

I remember trying the one shot demo and let me tell you upfront, this game is flawless. Not only does it recapture the feeling of the classic RE2 with a modern twist, it improves upon it and I was actually scared quite a few times. I won’t spoil anything, but definitely pick this up if you’re a fan of the classic.

I recommend Skyrim for any gamer or RPG/Roleplay/Medieval/Folkloric addicted person. It has magical attributes where you can go from transmuting ore into other or, all the way to summoning a demonic being to obliterate enemies with fire. Definitely buy when it is on sale for a reasonable price and try it out for yourself!
