6th Game in the series
One of 3 potential starting points in the series would recommend to at least play the previous games or watch YouTube story summaries especially LadyVirgilia Trails Archive

But nonetheless a great starting point to go in blind
Falcom also mentioned after the release of cold steel 1 that at the start of every new arc in the franchise they will try to make it as an entry point for new players to get into.
(This game is where most people are introduced into the franchise no harm in starting with it)

Story
8/10
Same with sky first chapter (the first game in the series timeline wise) this game is SLOW and really builds up the world to the player and since we are talking about timeline this game starts around midway of the 4th game (Trails from Zero and ends around almost to the the finale of the 5th game (Trails to Azure) and since that is the case it includes minor spoilers but would only go over your head when this is your first game in the franchise. But to those who played the past game these "spoilers" are great call backs and Easter eggs to the player to find
Music
8/10
I miss Get Over The Barrier but Great Power and I Miss You are great nonetheless
Combat
7/10
Changed how orbments work no need to do sepith math to get the desired arts quarts have no drawbacks like how attack 1 used to do in past games where it adds attack but decreases defense which is a nice change overall made the system less complicated for new player but still miss math aspect which added depth to the combat. Aside from that S-Crafts are attained per chapter is a bit over the top especially when doing the game on nightmare on their first run overall great cast of characters with their own play style and with a diverse master quartz lineup made the game fun and entertaining
