Death and Taxes is a "paperwork" game in which you play as "Grim", a reaper of a certain "district", and decide over the fate of the humans living there, all while managing to uphold certain requirements (or not, your choice) to finish the day.

The focus of the game lies in the story and the relationship between "Fate", the bored overseer of the universe and Grim, there are multiple paths to choose from that will affect the outcome of the game.

Unlike other similar games like "Papers, Please", Death and Taxes does not focus on the moral dilemma of who to let live/let through the gate.
The choices boil down to letting someone live or die, which will affect 4 parameters of your world (peace, economy, health and environment). The only problem you will face, is that every day there are certain conditions that have to be fulfilled, e.g 6 people have to die. The problem is that a disregard of the rules will barely be punished and you can easily create an utopia by partially fulfilling the rules. The focus of the game really is not the moral dilemma but the story.

All in all, Death and Taxes is a nice little game to get immersed into for a few hours, it certainly is worth the price tag of 12€, if you are unsure, a demo is available to play through the first week of the game.

The game's a blast offline and the online heists are amazing.
It is the most loaded GTA ever, you can do so much stuff and it is fun, you might ask yourselves why I gave a negative review, this is why:
-the grind is ludicrous
-the community is cancer in it's purest form
To elaborate on the second point, people will kill you for no reason with their hydra's and kurumas, they will join heists they know nothing about, ♥♥♥♥ up the setups time and time again, won't listen to what you (the leader) has to say and will leave after ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up for the third time.
You'll will spend 80% of the early-mid game driving through LS, trying to get to the mission location a fourth time because someone decided to leave the mission. This game is a chore online, if you can grab it for 30 bucks for the single player, do it. It is incredible, just don't go online.

Been playing this game on and off for about 10 years now.

Positive:
-lots of content
-very charming
-great ost (you can extract it in data/core/music btw)
-ongoing support for well over 10 years
-a ton of mods that can expand the game however you want (I recommend Ageless era which adds many new races)
-lots of lore

Neutral:
The gameplay is good, but nothing special.

Negative:
The game can be a bit rough sometimes when the player switches and the camera turns to him.

TL;DR
It's a good game, try it!
