Doesn't run smooth on several machines from high-end to laptop. Doesn't really matter. Stutters far too often in gunfights.

The Anti-Cheat-Expert still does not uninstall with the game. Had to uninstall it fro the programs & feature menu.

Uses levelinfinite for account management, which is horrible. The support on that site doesn't even respond to simple requests.

The game is absolutely not there yet. Trying to do everything at once instead of being good at one thing.

Sledgehammer's Modern Warfare 3 is a go. That game was actually pretty awesome. I gonna die on that hill.

Don't buy Black Ops 6.
From small things like visual downgrades to footsteps and other audio not working proper.
No clue. There is a whole bunch of videos and articles that the engine is a step backwards by 2 years of MW3's fixes.

Rest is a bunch of constant, never ending packet-burst and packet-loss while your ping shows something like 15ms. On a really good connection. Just annoying.

You will get blood markers on the enemy but no hitmarkers and other weird things going down in your matches.

The whole engine seems to have massive problems. The server seem to be choking real hard.

Oh and don't expect the ricochet anti-cheat to work. I think since this is like the second time the franchise is through this since Modern Warfare 2019 not having a working anti-cheat for ages.

Rest of the multiplayer is play SMG or play nothing. That is pretty much the weapon balance.
Or you go derp around. That is always an option.

Did wait long enough if the company fixes something or says something that has merit to it.

If you like CoD you gonna grab it anyways.

For those who are on the fence.
Modern Warfare 3 for the multiplayer. As long as they keep it running I guess.
Modern Warfare 2019 and Modern Warfare 2 for the Single Player.
Warzone is free anyways and mess.

Hope they gonna fix it though.

Game is awesome fun with friends.

One major downside though, nobody seems to mention!
DO NOT buy this if you are on the latest AMD hardware.
Or at least look up several guides before you gonna buy this.
There is a ton of them. Some might help.
It crashes to desktop about every 10 minutes or even crashes your whole GPU driver. (25.Jun.2024)

Amazing game. Was waiting for this one.

Controlls can be a dodgy at times. But when you are a fan A O T and you can't get enough of slashing through titans. This is a solid buy.

(First review, before the patch below. -This got fixed 09.09.2016-)
Buying it though is a gamble.
My xbox (native 360) controller works kinda half inverted and no actions on start or back keys. Arrow keys are remapped by the game itself to LT and stuff. Super weird.

Also my keyboard isn't working proper. Instead of moving with WASD it moves my camera and i need to move with the arrowkeys. But it ain't like that in the settings.

I'll keep this game and hope there will be a solution soon, because I really wanna play it.

But sadly need to say. Keep your hard earned money.

If you wanna bother with fixes. There are several topics on the steamforum. Some people fixed it by reinstalling controller drivers. Or using 3rd party software for remapping. Some fixed it by buying a new/old controller. Seems to be a revision thing maybe. So ye. Check the forums before you buy it. Maybe you can figure out if your controller will actually work before you buy the game.

But ye. Can't recommned this at all.

The devs got their game back, under their control. FINALLY. Maybe lil too late. NEXON was publishing this game before and it didn't go anywhere for far too long.

Gotta say they really polished it up now. DX11 as an option now (still in beta but works just fine).

Finally there is a proper introduction to the game via tutorial and a bunch of VERY well voice acted videos. Very entertaining on top. LOL.

Gameplay seems balanced and well... NO OTHER GAME out there beats the fluid movement double jump always accurate fast paced gameplay.

Only concern is, maybe its all a lil too late. Since there is like no advertising happening.

SO GO AND PLAY!

Fast paced gameplay and several distinctive classes, which u can buff a lil bit with certain loadout cards. You will get those through arsenal crates by leveling up. In these crates are cards which you will get by RNG, also xp boosts and other things. Good change there. The teamwork is VERY important. Yes you can go one on one against most Mercs, but that won't help a lot, when there is no teamplay. Every Merc has his/her purpose. Do what you are supposed to do and this game is pure fun.

NO P2W! Yes Nexon as a publisher ... ahm ye. But everything is unlockable with ingame currency. You can shortcut your way there with either steam-packs or buy items for relativly good pricing in the store. But tbh every Merc can do just fine with the basic card. And the once you start with are pretty good.

So why the negative?

Simple.

There is and was always one thing I disliked about this game. And it is out on steam for one year now. 1 YEAR! Not counting the betas and alphas before.

The developers were NOT able to create a "group with your friends" party option. NOPE. Only in competitive mode. So you chose the casual server browser and wanna join with you friends and play in party. Guess what. NOPE.

Thats why. Someone explain me why you create a fantastic game that focuses so much on TEAMPLAY and then you can NOT TEAMUP with your FRIENDS in the most visited game server browser that kinda everyone uses...

If you can or want to deal with that, and go through several lobbies, trying to switch teams or your friends spectating till they can finally join your team, or even play against each other. Go for it. Its a solid satisfying shooter.

!!!

Black Ops 2 + a few more movement abilities.

Even tho i was waiting for the next Treyarch's Black Ops, since i am loving the heck out of BLOPS2, this is a "consolitis" PC port at this moment. And yes... the PC version as it is right now would get a full on NEGATIVE.

Mostly because they have a whole PC Dev team behind this port and I expected the typical engine problems to be fixed or at least kinda solved and not beeing worse.

The issues so far:

1.
Mouse acceleration.
Several options to turn it off. Awesome right? Nope.
The mousespeed is still bound to your framerate, so the only fix to get consistant movement is, that you lock your framerate to something you can constantly achieve. (Example: You are on a 120hz monitor, so you would usualy set your refreshrate 120hz and your FPS-lock too 120fps. Wrong. Your mousespeed will slow down significant at the moment your FPS are dropping. And this is during a firefight. So you won't be able to track your enemy with the same speed. You will end up over- or underaiming which makes every encounter kinda spray and pray luck of the draw.

So why did this not feel too bad in BLOPS2? Because the game did run a lot better and most of the time you maxed out the FPS cap. For the people which did play titanfall for tthe first half year after release. Imagine that acceleration FPS bound, just worse.

I did play this game on 2 diffrent mice. A func ms-2 with an Avago ADNS 3090 sensor which is excellent. No prediction or snapping and a finalmouse 2015 with a custom pixart 3310 sensor. Both of these sensors are very much known and belong into the FPS genre. The mice were set to 6/11 pointerspeed @800dpi and MarkC reg fix installed. this is supposed to work for every good coded shooter out there but it did not matter here.

I also did try the BLOPS2 mouse fix with the startup options: -noforcemaccel -noforcemparms

Only the FPS cap at a lower lvl did work A BIT.

Which leads directly into:

2.
No automaim and flinch interaction:

We are PC players. We don't have autoaim. Good. Well they did not port this very good either. Lets take the console. You are tracking someone and your autoaim kicks in to assist. If you get shot the flinch doesn't matter too much since the aimassist is eating it up for you.

What does this mean for a PC player? You aim at someone, during your firefight you get shot from the side, your aim knocks off random into oblivian. And 'm talking about really bad. Also i could not make out any pattern which you could work against, like lets say you get shot from the left, it knocks up left upper side. Its random and you are all over the place. Which again can turn out into a lot of (/%&$%&/(/(/(=)=)=%$§!!!11 moments. And guess what! No toughness perk... so ye. Deal with it. Must have been some troll idea here.

3.
Videosettings and quality:

I asked around checked through the web and so on. It seems that the game runs kinda meh all over the board. Now there are already tweets from treyarch that this will be fixed for the final release, but ye. I know it is a beta, but it gives you this feeling of "this is what i get" while you are playing it.

And it runs kinda like crap at this moment. You have all these awesome videosettings and scaling and stuff, just to find yourself turning them all the way down to get some decent FPS.

While the first 2 points are facts and make the game a DO NOT PRE-ORDER for a PC player (if you are on console, go ahead. Will be awesome.) this how the game performs is kinda a personal opinion thing.

(A later edited note on the following thing: AMD was able to release a BETA! driver when the BLOPS2 beta was ending... ye well gg wp. Guess they were either sleeping or re-re-releasing old videocards)
I am on a crossfire setup, so I can expect to have problems here. Which were dynamic moving sunshadows flickering over the ground with half of the speed and feeling kinda off, even tho the new catalyst drivers have a BLOPS3 crossfire profile. But that is on me. I also heard that the game runs a bit easier on nvidia cards at this moment, but can't really tell. Maybe the new once. But there were people wiith 770's and 680's which had to turn it all the way down to low aswell. It is very very beta here.

I did play this on:
HD7990 [1050/1575]
i7 3770k @4.7Ghz
32GB 1600Mhz RAM
Game is on a ASUS Raidr Drive x4 PCIe

4.
OS performance and PC port:
This is a weird one. The BLOPS3 exe keeps resetting itself to a LOW priority in your taskmanager, even when you alt-tab and set it to high, it will reset to low when you tab back in... So your OS/PC adresses everything else before it comes to BLOPS3. You know what that means, right?

(This was on windows 8.1 pro)

Now again, yes its a beta, but there are 2 things which worry me a lot.

1. There is a whole PC dev team and we get these problems? Apart from the game's engine and the mouse stuff which could at least be minimized if not solved... this is something you would expect from a bad port with no own PC team behind it.

2. A lot of things never got fixed in previous CoDs. But on the other hand. This is Treyarch, so I expect this to be worked on.

Now to the good stuff.

The whole ambient is awesome. You feel right in the battle, yes its another CoD, but the guns feel typical low recoil run and gun (and now boost) The wallrunning is good stuff and can lead to some awesome holy crap did we all bumb into each other "mistakes were made" moments.

The sounds and explosions on some good headphones are fantastic. (Wish i could combine that with some good videosettings)

And you get this typical BLOPS2 feeling with a lil bit of wallrun boost and wabbit stuff, but not that stupid jump and shoot all over the place and over 4 diffrent lvl like in a game we all know. Its still pretty grounded.

The Specialists with their abilities are real fun. The idea could have been from Black "Destiny" 4 :P Nah seriously, I don't care about the whole who did copy what. If it works, use it. And it does.

The good old BLOPS2 killstreaks with new names and the 10/10 equip system. VERY NICE!!!

So.
If you are on console and you did love BLOPS2 go ahead, you can't go wrong!

BUT!
For PC players. Don't preorder. Wait for the release and see what they fixed. Wee are talking about a lot money here.
So i leave a NO on this review for now. And I am very sorry to give this game a NO. Since I was hyped and waiting for it.
And I HOPE. This NO will change to a big YES!

And oh, when you join in. Just mute everybody right away. Nothing but the typical toxic stuff going on on VOIP, so stay away from that and enjoy your game. (But hey, thats pretty much common stuff and nothing new :P)

Pre-Patch (firepower DLC for all that was) THIS game was outstanding in many ways.
Was it a must play back then? YES!

Zero gravity, enemies comming at you from every position upside down around and what not.
The sound-simulation-system of your suit was epic. The idea to listinging to the game more than watching every corner. And the feeling of beeing allready dead and scared to hell once you were EMP'd for a couple of seconds till it rebooted. Also the ability to run silent and sneak by.

All this combined with your very minimal 1 gun for all situations. Attach to the ground and scope (snipe) ppl, or spin and twist in space and burstfire or go full auto. the gun offered 3 diffrent grenade types. EMP (don't u f***ing EMPP your whole team :P) ICE (created smoke) and a blast grenade to pop enemies out of cover. Even the melee attack was executed with this ONE gun.

Who ever had the idea that a firepower DLC would be a nice upgrade. #NOPE

I dunno. It is dead anyways. Why don't you release it as a free 2 play pre-patch game futuremark? I think ppl would give it a try again, instead getting the sod feeling that they just bought a DEAD multiplayer game. But hey ... that doesn''t effect the singleplayer right?! ... OH WAIT ... THERE IS NON!
