The instance in which a child or adult has a voice, but is unable to use it in certain circumstances. This disorder is not well known due to it only effecting less than 1% of the population. People with this disorder will not engage in communication with anyone, and usually they prefer to be alone. Just imagine the feeling of being rejected by everyone and being left out on everything because of something that most people don't know about. It feels like a curse at times. The truth is, I have Selective Mutism, and I'm not afraid to say it. The disorder needs to be realized in the world, because so many of my brethren are mocked, bullied, etc. for this reason.
