Did you like Diablo 1 and 2. Does Diablo 3 seem a bit dry by comparison?

Path of Exile is what Diablo 3 could have been, it's a game with countless skills, builds, classes, and customization. At first glance you'll likely feel overwhelmed and thing "This is way to complex, there is no way I'm touching this" fear not exile, look up someone else's build guide and play through the story. What seems impossibly complex isn't actually that bad. (I mean it is really complex, but that only matters if you're getting all min-max ish)

The reality is you'll quickly learn while there are so many moving parts to Path of Exile, at any given time you'll only be worrying about one or two that are a problem, it only gets really complicated if you decide to start theory crafting your own builds, but even that isn't as bad as it first appears. You choose your skill, figure out what ascension might have the best synergy with it, and go from there.

Even the mindboggling passive tree is actually not as complicated as it may first appear, generally speaking you'll decide on a skill and a defensive strategy, and maybe a keystone passive or two, and that'll determine 80-90% of your passive tree, the rest being minor personal tweaks to suit your immediate situation / play style. (not that it doesn't allow endless customization, just generally speaking there are "themes" you'll follow not every imaginable combination of passives, just because you'll have some concept you'll be working around. If you're doing fire damage, you're going to ignore all the "not fire damage" nodes. stuff like that.

Early Access Review
So this game is pretty simple, you have sabers, you cut blocks in whatever the direction their pointing except the bombs don't cut those and avoid the red hurty areas. So simple, then you realize it's effectively a thinly veiled fitness ruitine, that's fun and enjoyable... 10/10 would be tricked into excercise again.

In all seriousness it's a very fun game, but expect to get a sweat going when you get to higher difficulties. Also Easy and Normal are very easy, Hard isn't too bad, but the difficulty jump from hard to expert is real.

This game has to be one of the best put together games I've ever played. I won't spoil it but it'll absolutely screw with your brain as the game goes on. It's simple enough and you probably won't find much replay value, but it's one of those unique games you just really need to play.

I won't say much because this should not be spoiled. I will say it tugs at the emotional strings, resonates well we creative types, and is something you'll want to do all in one go (it'll take you a little over an hour)

I don't review many games, but with how this game left my feeling at the end... I think it would be a disservice to not say something about it...

This game has left me with a lot to think about. Tomorrow will be a good day.

Warning, this game will consume your life. This game is an excellent addition for people who enjoy Eve-online, Freelancer, etc. Like eve it has a pretty brutal learning curve. (Here is a ship, here's the basic controls, okay bye!)

So there will be a lot of trial and error, but if you enjoy games with depth, complexity, and awesome space combat... This game is a win. (don't believe me look at the players who get into it, you have two extremes, some that put in only like a dozen hours because it's just not there thing then people who put in 200 hours plus)

How many tripple A games do you get over 200 hours play time these days? Now this runs a fraction of that price so yeah, it's a bargain.

Gut wrenchingly sad story... but an excellent one. Choices DO impact the story in a seemingly meaningful way. This game will make you cry, Big man you say? Be ready to spill big man tears.
