Short but with quite a bit of replayability and stuff to do. Also with a story and characters that really remind me of Girls' Frontline (good game)

Dark Souls 2 more like BEST Souls 2

>Best build diversity. You wanna wield a Moonlight Greatsword in each hand and have like 3 different movesets available to you? You can do that and it works. Poison or bleed build? Also works. Wanna carry two massive hammers to just pancake everything on your path? You might need to level STR a bit more than most builds but you can do that too. Magic is at it's best on DS2 too, being actually usable and also not downright busted like pyromancy in DS1.
>Not a roll fest like DS3 or a backstab fest like DS1.

PvE has a lot of bad bosses but also some series-wide highlights like basically all the DLC bosses. Areas are as hard as you want to make them with bonfire ascetics, enemies are always manageable as long as you're not just sprinting and rolling to the boss drawing aggro from literally everything in your path and actually try killing them one by one.
Player choice, both in build paths and even difficulty itself is probably at its highest on DS2 when compared to the other two entries.
Progression isn't as non-linear as DS1, but you have way more choices as to where to go next when compared to DS3.
Fashion souls is at it's peak on this one, and it's an absolute travesty that more sets from this game didn't make it into DS3.

Soul memory is the only thing holding this game back from being the unironic best. Absolute trash mechanic, but once you git gud and also equip an agape ring you don't feel it as much. Still trash though.

It's the best ending I could've ever asked for.
