Played Chiv 1 for years and all i can say is Chiv 2 is currently a failure. Game has the potential and the right things but it seems nobody went though it to look for problems. Where are private servers? If we don't have private servers at least have functioning public ones. Animations? they work 75% of the time. Various timers like active parry work sometimes at best. Balanced teams on TO? Yea, no. How about the hacking problem? I run into a speed hacker every time I play at least once.

Currently the game is much better than the alpha when I played it on Epic( may have been beta, not sure. Just remember signing up. It was definitely at least a year ago). However, even though there has been vast improvements this game is still a joke, just like 90% of games that have come out in the past 5 years. Lack of updates even on fundamental issues plaguing the combat system. Now, don't mistake the bashing of the combat system as my form of coping.

Is the game worth buying? Not for what the asking price is, maybe $30 including the special edition. The game is too bare bones and is overflowing with bugs and just outright blatant problems, you probably won't notice them until you reach the skill level where you can consistently land counters. If you are looking to buy the game I recommend finding a friend to practice dueling with, that way you can discern the user errors and game errors instead of blaming everything on the game. Don't get be wrong, the game can be very fun but the vast number of small issues can be very aggravating.


Update after another 40 hours of playtime:
Yea no, I don't recommend this game in the slightest. Maybe I'm cursed with my knowledge of IT, but this game is a joke. I've recently noticed another problem of server not in sync with user end and the more aggravating problem of animations not lining up with hit boxes. Swings going strait through people and swing animations which are not within distance hitting(and this isn't a turn cap or wind up issue, I mean a genuine problem).

When you reach the higher skill levels it becomes extremely boring to play unless you duel the top players, then which you die to game breaking problems 50% of the time. I have now uninstalled this game and will not be playing again until they actually make an effort to fix the game or open up modding to the community so some of our amazing chiv 1 mod creators can fix the game since the devs wont.
