I've not played this game since late October 2024 and yet it constantly reappears in my thoughts. Who would've thought this little green mess of a game would be so special.

One day I'll properly avenge my dad, maybe with a keyboard and mouse.

One run was more than enough for me. I was quickly overwhelmed when I found out what it takes to properly "complete" this game. Regardless, what a fantastic experience. I was moved by the story and the tragedy of it all. The soundtrack is now frequently blasting in my ears as I slave away at my computer, much like Sisyphus and his rock, much like Zagreus and his journey through hell.

Supergiant Games' usually beg you to do a second and third run through their games and I never do, yet I always consider it. Maybe one day I'll have beat my entire backlog - then I'll happily come back to Hades.

A fantastic little title, unique in it's setting, charming in it's visual presentation and clearly made with so much love for not only the source material but the boomer shooter genre as a whole and I am sad I was not able to finish it. Ten hours in and it felt so incredibly repetitive. Only a couple missions away from beating the main campaign and my body and soul were screaming at me to let it go and move on to a different experience. Maybe if I was more into Warhammer I'd put myself through finishing it. Not that it's unenjoyable, it just feels like a chore.

Had a blast but life must go on.

Through unemployment and eternal sloth, the Lamb has embraced me and made me one with the crown. Steam says +200 hours but the Steam Deck says 40 which is a lot more accurate.

A masterclass in hack and slash indie titles. Surprisingly deep combat systems. The best possible art style for sacrificing little critters to Eldritch Gods. Funny writing of old. Fun base management.

Like watching a movie with The Rock in it.

Nothing stuck. Shooting people is alright. Most of the enemies just rush your position. I think there's moments when the AI tries to flank you but most of the levels don't accommodate for it, though it is cool when they call-out some of your actions during combat.

Enemy design for the *spoiler alert* samurai characters is as bland as a samurai character drawn by a western man from Idaho could be. The rest of the enemies are copy-pasted Russian dudes in t-shirts and cargo pants.

The story is bland and forgettable. Seeing the not-very-colorful cast of characters die to sentimental music every now and then was the only joy the narrative would ever bring. The old irish characicature that falls off a cliff is hilarious.

There is a tremendous disconnect between the actions Lara commits through you as a player and her general mood and mental stability in cutscenes and dialogue. You kill hundreds of people and as you progress you become all the more ruthless in the ways you kill. It would have been so interesting for this to take a narrative route similar to that of Spec-Ops: The Line or Far Cry 3 where the characters deteriorate and suffer psychologically, but nobody ever reacts to Lara's killing prowess or her insane acrobatics, much less does Lara ever talk about how sweet it is to shove a shotgun up a strangers mouth and blow his head off. The only time her actions are ever alluded to is in a single voice-line from the main baddie close to the last 30 minutes of the game - and Lara promptly ignores this quip and carries on killing the same 3-4 types of bad guys for the remainder of the game.

She also sticks a rod into the spirit of an ancient Japanese princess and she could not give less of a damn about it, which is pretty in line with the rest of the game.

Played this back in 2015 so this is my second time, and I can safely say I will never play this ever again. Still interested in the rest of the series though, mostly to see if the tight tank tops stick around.

Hitting the recommend button on this review purely because the game is harmless and has some amount of spectacle.

5/10 good Steam Deck experience post-lobotomy operation.

Gave it a good 110 hours before finally saying "yeah this is pretty good."

I was a big fan of the first Helldivers and thought some of the magic would be lost once the game became a third person shooter - and boy I could not be more wrong. What a beautiful surprise this game was. Revolutionary in it's philosophy as a live service game, achieving a steady stream of content I could only compare to Fortnite: Battle Royale.

What you have here is a stellar foundation and an incredibly addicting gameplay loop that's stunning in it's presentation and that offers a sandbox experience you dream of when playing with your toys as a little kid. I regularly engage with the community and feel invested in the little story they're crafting here.

Can't wait for Squids. 10/10 game experience, 11/10 with friends.

Germ is at the centre of it all, including my dreams. Wish I could hug the guy.

I only lived in the 'burbs of western society for 2 years, but even then could deeply relate to the romantization of a quaint little car centric town. It actually helped me see it in a romantic light. Helped me appreciate the beauty in how isolating it all felt. To revisit fond memories of the people that stayed behind. To appreciate what's become of my life since leaving such a place. Only makes me wish I enjoyed it more for what it was, but now I'm happy it happened at all, and I have Night in the Woods and it's cast of beautiful little characters to thank for that.

This one holds up, big time. Action-packed and stress inducing in the best way possible. Lots of memorable set pieces and and a cool silent, armoured protagonist as it was a staple of it's time. Armour so cool in fact that it tricked everyone into thinking Isaac was a character worth expanding on.

The coolness factor of Dead Space is ramped up to 11. Playing it on-the-go on the Deck was amazing on it's own. I'm happy I played this, very very happy.

There's lots of little details and masterfully creative, comedic artistry in this game that I'm afraid will go unnoticed for the longer part of my time on this earth. I wish everyone in the world had a chance to indulge in the game's hilarious writing and clever visuals. Oh and the SOUNDTRACK. Yet another album to scare the hoes at the gym with.

i am in love with the characters in this and wish the game had a bigger community so they could be brought to life a bit more.

This game's a personal favorite. I'm looking forward to what else the team over at Aggro Crab has to offer.

Oh and Tappi can like, get it.

As a Steam Deck owner, it is absolutely essential that you sink an entire day into this game at least a couple of times. Absolutely perfect for the platform.

I wish I'd had it in me to stick around for longer as the community and late-late game seem rather enjoyable. But after 12 or so hours I felt like I got what I needed out of it, if only because I'm working on clearing a backlog of other gaming experiences. Otherwise, this is a desert island game for sure.

The extra 8 hours were pure indulgence fueled by procrastination. But hey, my thesis is finished, so maybe it wasn't all that bad.
