Another great game by Todoki Hawado(十時布哇道), A legendary JRPG director, working at Studio BETENSTAR (Japanese : 弁天星・スタジオ) and he has developed many other famous games including:

>SCROLLS:SKYRIM (Japanese : ジ・エルダー・スクロールズ ・スカイリム ~チートで異世界最強の無敵魔王「ドラゴンボーン」になった件について~),
>SCROLLS:Companions (Japanese : 友達ダン! 〜青い原1野を疾走し、風を切り裂く狼を明るい月が血で祝福仰せられる〜)
>Paradise Lost: New Vegas (Japanese:楽園喪失:ニュー・ベガス ~残酷な荒地の復讐者~)

and many other great anime games, this one is no exception.

Terraria clone in space except it failed to capture everything that makes Terraria good.
It also took ten billion years to release since the development cycle is so slow, so future updates' cycle looks grim.
A good lesson to never pre-order a game.

Don't.

This is a really amazing game. I bought it because the charming graphics in the trailer attracted me and I couldn't be more satisfied. The graphics and animations are so charming and beautiful I can't get enough of it. The combat is very fun and each strike feels weighty. The rolling mechanic feels very responsive and feels amazing to use to go behind enemies. The soundtracks are good and atmospheric, though weirdly enough the first area has no bgm and instead only have an ambience that is looped not very well. The bosses are challenging enough and identifying their patterns really feels great. There are a bunch of equippable items with varying effects that you use depending on the situation.

Overall a very great, though short game. It's still worth the price if you like platformers though. Makes for a nice weekend fun gaming session. The various challenge runs can also potentially add to the playtime if you're up for it.

I have the original Dark Souls 2 and bought the season pass for that already, played that for 200+ hours and enjoyed every moment. Without a doubt, when they released this "definitive edition" and expected me to pay more for it, I refused to. I finally caved in when it is on sale to upgrade for about $5. I co-op'ed with my friend who has the original Dark Souls 2 but not the DLC, and I have to say we are having a blast.

  • The new enemy and item placement makes it refreshing.
  • The new lighting and graphics really adds to the atmosphere, torches are actually useful now and dark places are more foreboding.
  • Performance are even better than the already greatly optimized base Dark Souls 2.
  • The DLC areas are amazing.

I would say to get this if you have never tried Dark Souls 2 before, or just new to the series in general. If you already have the base Dark Souls 2, especially with the season pass, I suggest to wait for a sale. It kind of sucks that they split the community with this version, but the game itself is still great and extremely fun.

Deliciously cheesy, oddly enjoyable, impossibly addicting, and best of all, justifies my new interest in mechanical keyboards.

Finally beat the game (although with only about half the map explored) clocking in at 85 hours. I would say without a shadow of a doubt it is the best game I've played in the past year or three. I enjoyed every moment of it, despite some flaws (infrequent but still annoying crashes, slightly clumsy UI, clunky character movement in small spaces, and some others), the numerous positive things overshadows them.

From the engaging combat, numerous build choices, engaging storyline, incredibly well-written dialogues, beautifully developped characters, fantastic greaphics, absolutely immense and immersive world, ocean of side quests, and numerous other amazing things this game has to offer, this puts it as a title that I think everyone should experience at least once.

The only thing I can say against buying this is to not buy it on steam, but from GOG instead. It gives you the game DRM-free and all the profit goes to the wonderful developer instead of partially to Valve. CD Projekt Red deserves every last bit for this wonderful piece of art.

Now I'm off to clock even more hours experiencing the other endings of the game, and it'll all be hours well spent.

See Mr. Rogers? I CAN be anything if I try to, and I didn't need to pay attention to your boring classes to do it! Where did your education take you huh? Not becoming a goat that's for sure
