I figure that after extensive amounts of playtime, I'm update my review. Unfortunately, my opinion has not changed and I do not recommend this game.
Reforger came out in May 2022, providing us with a brand new look with updated visuals, new engine (Enfusion), and many new visual features (such as clouds painting shadows on the terrain below). As well as that, new controls and a new (old) setting. The game as a whole was presented more as a testbed to further develop the framework for future arma games as well as fix bugs and provide tools for modders to create additional community content.

How that has panned out over the now 2 years is a little bit different. From the very beginning the game has been plagued by bugs, crashes, disconnects. That is no real surprise for a early access game just out of launch. Yet we still have all these issues 2 years on, even after the vanity release of a so called "1.0" Bohemia's plan to have reforger in 1 year of EA, then release was a little more than optimistic. Granted, the constant crashing that I had some months ago has finally lessened to the point where I won't crash every 10 minutes. I wish that was an exaggeration. Yet server disconnects remain, and completely mess with the flow of the game, particularly reforgers main mode, "Conflict". Bohemia's pace of development seems slow. With drip feeding tiny amounts of content, you'd think they would be able to fix many of the bugs both new and old. Somehow, this is not the case.

Honestly, even if all the bugs and problems were gone, I'm sure there would still be stuff about the game to critisise. I'm choosing to focus on bugs and such because that is what will be most apparent to you while playing. All of my experience is happening in official conflict servers, which have only very recently been raised to a 48 player capacity.

That all being said, there are things that I like about this game. Obviously the massive upgrade in graphics from Arma 3 really immerses you in the game, whether you're driving (and not bugging out) through the roads of Everon, or walking in some dark forest at night, it manages to keep you locked in fr fr no cap. I'm happy with the introduction of radios, even if I'm not 100 % happy with their implementation. We are still missing some things from arma 3 ,such as firing from vehicles. We also have to remember that this did not come immediately from arma 3 either, it was an update. Although I'm pretty sure it was relatively soon after launch, maybe a year or so. In the conflict game mode, I'm also happy with the focus on basic soldiering skills such as navigation and triangulation. Unfortunately it does seem that a lot of arma reforger players do not read the field manual provided in game, and do not play the basic tutorial because I swear that arma reforger players will often share 1 braincell and it is ping ponging all day every day.

All in all, I can't recommend this game. It's too buggy to be enjoyed consistently, your teammates will be frustratingly small brained, the amount of vanilla content to toy with is rather small. I want to like this game but I just can't. Only fun to be had is if you are playing with friends or don't mind getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over by the game for 45 minutes.

Some bugs that I have encountered just this week;
Randomly disconnect from servers.
Can't aim down optics while lying down.
Vehicles will randomly spazz out while driving, meaning you will flip your car even if driving in a straight line at reasonable speeds
Currently, official servers have been falling over resulting in 30% plus packet loss
When throwing grenades, sometimes the grenade will stick to your hand and you will not be able to interact with anything or change weapon or do literally anything but walk with a grenade out until you respawn.
Even with 0 packet loss, sometimes enemies will not die when you shoot them. For example, steadied automatic fire into someones chest with 20+ rounds hitting.
You cannot adjust stance while ADS if you have ADS as a hold bind and not a toggle bind.
There are probably more I'm forgetting.
