This game is definitely worth your money many times over, but the vast amount of extremely major bugs(Such as high ping, delay, and losing connection with players that are within close proximity of you) is borderline game-breaking. Do read below for the real review. I do still play this regularly.

Basically you play as a dwarf working for the "best" mining company in the galaxy who set up shop on the most dangerous planet in the galaxy with the most resources in the galaxy: Hoxxes IV.

You play 1 of 4 classes and can have up to 4-person teams. The primary goal is completing a collection goal, but the real goal is making sure the giant bugs don't eat you.

The game starts in a hub, the Space Rig, where you do customization of character and weapon. Weapons are defined by class, and classes are not defined by role, but rather, how to take on a task with their unique tools available. There is the Driller, Engineer, Gunner, and Scout.

--Driller has giant drills which can go through terrain, more on that later; Driller starts with a flamethrower and can unlock a cryo cannon and sludge pump
-His secondaries include a pistol, a plasma pistol, and a microwave gun
-He has C4 as special weapon

--Engineer has a shotgun, SMG, or a smart rifle(Lock onto X amount of targets, let loose burst) for primary
-His secondaries are a grenade launcher, a breach cutter which shoots giant lines of plasma, and a new laser gun
-His gimmick is turrets, which can be either one singular turret with more ammo or two tiny ones with less ammo but more DPS, and platforms, which can be use to negate falls and build bridges and barricades.

--Gunner has a minigun, an autocannon, or a missile launcher as his primaries
-His secondaries are a revolver, a burst pistol, or a railgun pistol
-His gimmick is shields and ziplines

--Scout's primaries are a typical assault rifle, a plasma carbine, or a space Garand(Named the M1000)
-His secondaries are a double-barreled sawed-off, double SMGs, or a crossbow
-His gimmick is his flare gun and grappling hook

You choose one of these 4 misfits, select your desired/required mission at the terminal at the space rig, hop onto the drop pod, and then the pod drops you into the planet by boring a hole through it, leaving you inside a cave. The caves are randomly generated each time, with certain parameters changing based off of the type of assignment you have.

Your main enemy is the wildlife of this amazing space paradise. The primary enemies are giant bugs, dubbed Glyphids, that start at the size of the dwarves and only go up from there.

Caves also change depending on biomes, which may enable certain stat changes in the bugs, such as the element of their attacks or their weaknesses, or different types of them may spawn more frequent.

Inside the caves, the minerals to be mined are:
-Gold, which converts to credits, which are to be used for upgrades and other purchases, either for weapons or cosmetics
-Beer ingredients, which is to be used to unlock and then buy beers to drink. There is a special "Beer of the Day", which gives you a buff that you can use when doing a mission, and a whole bunch of other beers which give no gameplay bonus, but rather, fun effects, such as disco lights and dancing, teleporting, shrinking, growing larger, and so on.
-Biome exclusive minerals used for crafting

The most arguably-important resource of all; Nitra. Nitra is used to buy resupply pods, which restore your ammo and health. Your Nitra count is not saved between missions, meaning that every time you load up a new mission, you start with 0 and have to find more.

Getting each class to level 25 unlocks a special assignment to promote them, which is DRG's prestige system.

Upon your first prestige, you get to unlock special machine events which allow access to so-called "Matrix Cores", which can be a cosmetic or a "overclock", which is a sort of mod to your weapon that can range from a slight increase in stats to something functionally different than the base. You also unlock deep dives, which are a marathon of 3 missions back to back with shared inventory. The game gets insane.

Ultimately, you can customize your weapons to the way you'd like. There are maybe 3 or 4 situations for weapons where they have a set "meta", but pretty much everything is viable.
Solo is fine but it is more fun on co-op. Kind of like Killing Floor or Left 4 Dead where more players raises the hazard on top of whatever difficulty you selected. I'd say the DRG difficulties scale like KF1, from 1-5. You also don't right click to aim, rather, your right click is now a pickaxe swing, which is used to mine minerals or clear blockage. It can be upgraded with a powerful strike to do major damage to enemies.

Besides crawly bugs, there are cave jellyfish that can swarm you, giant bloatflies that spit acid, a regular crawly that spits acid, a crawly that spits web to slow you down, a crawly that barrages you from afar and actually knows how to ambush and shoot and scoot, among other amazing horror shows.

Deep Rock Galactic is not a thinking game, but a creative game. How creative can you get to complete your objectives and get back to the Space Rig in relatively one piece?

Rock and stone!

A million times yes.

This game is exact reason why I even created a Steam account back in 2009. Completed it four times on Windows Live, and now I'm replaying it on this Steam version.

The Batman: Arkham series features, honestly, THE definitive cast of Batman characters and their portrayals(Except Origins, can't really say anything about a game I haven't played yet) and each entry is definitely worth a play.

EDIT: As of November 11th 2022, they have updated the game numerous times and have notably added a lot of QoL improvements, including control bindings. The complaint regarding the controls below is now irrelevant.

The Master Chief Collection(MCC) is, in a nutshell, a launcher for Halo 1-4, including ODST and Reach. Each Halo game bought is counted as "DLC" which you download.

The MCC is, very honestly, not that well optimized. Triggers for challenges are buggy, binding keys for controls is not even 100% implemented on ODST(Specifically not being able to use the arrow keys), and co-op is a very big female dog.

I recommend this for one simple reason: I love Halo. I'm an old fan. I used to play Combat Evolved on PC. Halo 2 excited me because it was shiny. Since the release of 3, I had hoped that we would have more games on PC...

Lo and behold!

REPULSIVE REVIEW LET'S GO

Killing Floor is a team survival shooter game. In this game, you play as a bunch of various people who hail from Britland who have an obsession with money and casually insult each other(Those crazy Brits amirite) while fighting various clones of failed lab experiments, dubbed "Specimens" or "Zeds". The actual backstory is that a company named Horzine, founded and run by the man who would eventually become the Patriarch(More on that down below), was tasked with creating various super soldier experiments which ended up failing. In fear of having his company shut down, he decided to release all of the failed experiments, add the final versions of the technology used in each Zed's creation(Such as the cloaking device used by the Stalker) and let himself go, and he go did. They basically f*cked up everything; it was not pretty.

Now, the actual gameplay involving weapons and stuff is split into 7 perks:
Commando - The guy who can kill the basic Zeds such as the Clot, Stalker and the Crawler, but has a harder time taking on the big guys such as Scrakes and Fleshpounds. He uses various assault rifles, battle rifles, and a few various versions of the Thompson SMG.

Firebug - Similar to the Commando in terms of role, the Firebug instead uses various flame-based methods of damage including a Flamethrower, the Trenchgun which fires dragon's breath shells, and flare revolvers.

Sharpshooter - The Big Game Hunter, this guy has generally low ammo pools for his weapons but is MADE for headshots and killing Husks, Scrakes and Fleshpounds. Has various pistols, a Winchester lever-action rifle, a crossbow, etc.

Berserker - STABBY STABBY SLICE AND DICE I HUNT YA DOWN AND KILL YA MOM. Carries various stabbing and slicing tools including a claymore, fire axe, katana and scythe(Which is DLC).

Support - The shotgunner of the team. Generally has low-ish ammo pools but does penetration damage(Can kill multiple Zeds with one shotgun blast). Generally better against the big guys than Firebug and Commando. Carries the Benelli M3 and M4, AA-12, BOOM-KILL-EVERYTHING Hunting Shotgun, etc.

Field Medic - This guy is the Guardian Angel of your team. Having grenades that can heal you as well as having guns that fire healing darts, he WILL stick it where the sun dun' bloody shine if you don't stand still. He also has upgrades to armor that make it work as a second health bar, essentially. Carries the MP7, MP5 and Victor SMG among others.

Demolitions - BOOM. 'Nuff said. Low ammo pools and expensive stuff, so aim with caution. Carries the M79 Grenade Launcher, M32 Multiple Grenade Launcher, M4 with an under-barrel M203 GL and pipe bombs(Essentially mines) among others.

With these perks, your goal is to kill every Zed you see up 'til the final wave. These Zeds include:
Clot - Your basic walker, shambles around and does very small damage. Can grab you. He's the off-white guy with no nose.

Gorefast - Shambles around like the Clot until he gets within a close range of you, then he will charge you and try to slice you to bits. He's the red guy with no jaw and a friggin' sword for an arm.

Stalker - The invisible-woman-lady-who's-not-exactly-hard-to-find, she has the second lowest HP out of everyone, but can move faster than a lot of other Zeds. Usually spawns in pairs.

Crawler - A spider-thing that has the lowest HP of any Specimen. Can move faster than most Zeds AND the player, and jumps at you when within range, so keep them away.

Bloat - A lumbering fat man who actually ISN'T a clone(Yes, this is an actual human being hopped up on failed steroids which makes him fat and.. bloated), he has VERY high resistance to EVERYTHING and can puke acid which can destroy you easily. However, there is one weaknesst: the head. Pop that and he's basically dead. Very easy to do. He walks very slowly.

Husk - A slower-but-not-exactly-slow Specimen, he has a fireball cannon for an arm and is the only Zed with a long-range attack. Be sure to kill him when you see him. Has burns all over his body with a high-pitched metalic voice.

Siren - An ugly and frail creature who moves extremely slow(I believe the slowest of all Zeds), she has a scream that not only ignores your armor and damages your health directly, the scream can also destroy un-detonated pipe bombs and explosives mid-air. Her head HP is surprising high, but her over-all health is very low.

Scrake - A failed experiment involving having a field surgeon resistant/immune to pain having a chainsaw for an arm, he decided he likes inflicting pain more than healing it. Headshots are the most effective against this guy. He also rages and charges forward when his health drops below a certain amount.

Fleshpound - The tallest, meanest and most powerful Zed, he's hopped up on super-steroids which makes him do only two things: Rage and pound flesh. If enough damage is dealt towards him or he has an un-broken line of sight on you for 10-15 seconds WITHOUT damage done to him, he will rage and promptly pound you and your team's flesh. The good part is that he is vulnerable to explosives, so grenade away. He's the guy with the light in his chest, by the way. Don't shoot him with your 9mm.

When you kill said Zeds, you earn Pounds(As in the British currency, most of the maps ARE in London or some part of Britian, after all) which you can use to buy various weapons and equipment at the Trader including re-filling grenades, getting armor, and re-filling your ammo. Ammo can also be restored via ammo packs scattered along most maps, same goes for armor. Heath can only be recovered by healing yourself or someone else.

After dealing with this freak show, you get to the final wave where you face their mutated creator, the Patriarch. The Patriarch has a machine gun and rocket launcher combo for an arm, can heal himself 3 times, and can go invisible and bum rush you. Yes, you should be careful.

If you find yourself in need of some dosh(They're POUNDS NOT DOLLARS D*MNIT) or some other form of assistance, you can use the voice command menu. If you want to compliment your team by criticizing their masculinity, you can use the voice command menu as well. If you want to kill the Specimens with harsh words, well.... You can't, but you can try with - guess what - the voice command menu.

This game is, above all, a tactics and teamwork game. Yes, generally pointing and clicking at something until it stops moving is a tried-and-true tactic, but not always in this game. Some perks don't have the proper tools to kill the big guys by themselves(I.E. Commando, Firebug), so you let a perk that DOES(I.E. Sharpshooter, Support) take care of it. The same perks that are good for taking care of the big guys don't neccessarily have enough ammo to take care of the lesser Specimens, so you let the former perk group take care of them. See what I'm saying? Tactics and team work.

Thanks for reading. I hope this review helps you buy the game. I'd be glad to play with anyone and help you out.

P.S.: The game is not dead. Plenty of people still play it consistently.

Sorry mate, don't take checks. Eugh.

JUST LOADSAMONEY!!!

Seriously, this guy is great. He was the first to have a particle effect(Which is money falling from his WAAAAAAAAAAD), and he has a green background on his portrait whilst other characters don't have sh*t. Plus, no one really chooses him, so you get to wave your wad at the gazers in the gutter. Other than that, he's not really different than other characters though.

But do it for the Dosh. F*CKING DO IT!

Did I mention that he always holds a wad of money in his hand? ALWAYS?

Thanks for reading, and I hope this influences your purchase. :)

After some very deep thinking(Read: Random thoughts), I have determined Saints Row IV is Saints Row: The Third mixed with Prototype. Yes. Buy it. Even if it's more of an expansion.. thing.
