Heres the deal: the game has a lot of ups and downs. Honestly its hard to tell a prospective new player to try getting into it cause theres a lot of road blocks and plenty of things that many people (myself included) will complain about.

To start off here are the warnings for Destiny 2:

Every other update bungie is going to make a change no one likes, in time said change may become bearable or even enjoyable but typically they start out being inconvenient or annoying and we just have to hope they will make an additional change for the better.

The first 3 DLCs plus the original red war campaign were sunset and are no longer playable. Which is a big negative cause the Forsaken DLC is to this day considered one of, if not the SINGLE best DLC this game ever had

Furthermore if you want to get into the end game content and high level play you can expect to need to dedicate an absurd amount of time to this game, as you would with any MMO.

But for the few that can stick around long enough and get into this game, it also has a lot to offer:

Personally I think this game has the single best PVE gunplay I have ever felt in a game, ESPECIALLY for a looter shooter. The recoil feels reasonable, the control and damage values arent too over or underpowered in almost all the content, the enemy designs feel well thought out and intentional and most of all combat in this game is never boring, and if you think it is: its probably time to try a new build out pal :) (Side note: I dont like the pvp combat in this game but Im also just bad at it ;-; )

Additionally the movement feels clean, the abilities and build crafting are done wonderfully, the exotics all feel truly unique and almost every one of them can have a unique build solely focused around them.
The Dungeons and Raids feel (generally) well planned and I enjoy a lot of the mechanics and puzzles they use in them and the coordination it requires. Admittedly this used to be more of a detriment but with the new systems bungie has implemented finding a group to play with has never been more streamlined.

My honest advice to anyone who wants to give this game a try: try out what is available for free to see if you like the way the game feels, if you do: try picking up a couple of the older DLCs for cheap (Id suggest starting with Witch Queen, its a fan favorite) and see if you like the way the campaigns feel. If you do, I think you may just be a future Destiny 2 Player and if not, worst case is you tried a free game you didnt like.
Give it a shot, It cant hurt :)

Honestly this is one of the best party style fighting games in a while, similar to games like stickfight or spider heck. Its simple and its fun and thats all that matters.
I have 5 hours in the demo and 2 in the full game. Only reason its not higher is my friends got bored while I still love it

If you ever wanted to shoot hotdogs with varying levels of prejudice this is the game for you. anything from plinky 22LRs all the way up to beefy .50 BMG and beyond

Having played the Beta and having early access I was able to experience the game before the Day 1 server errors. Based on that experience I can wholeheartedly recommend the game, its not exactly like payday 2 but I think overall the game compares and improves on our beloved crime simulator.

As for the day one issues, I understand its annoying and that people cant enjoy the game due to it, so until it gets fixed its gonna be hard to recommend anyone buy the game, but once the present issues are fixed I would highly recommend the game to anyone and everyone

Space empire, very cewl. Farm all the things, plummet the chlorine market

7 years later and its still better then most modern fps and stealth games
