Edit: I'm keeping the score at 6.5 but I thought to add this since I seem to have annoyed some "fans" (I've been playing this series since I was a kid. I even had the GBA version of X) but figured to add: Ark System has learned a bad habit of locking rosters behind multiple Season Passes. I bought the "ULTRA ULTIMATE BLAH BLAH BLAH" Edition and I still have to buy the new Season just to get Dizzy and the other classic characters. They're turning the game into an "Experience" (which is cringe). Again, if you're starting off, play the older games. Especially XX Accent Core. Much better experience and you don't have to fork out chunks of money (usually worth an actual Game) for locked away characters.

Honestly, other than the Storyline, this game was rather disappointing. The roster is lack-luster. They put a HANDFUL of characters behind MULTIPLE Season Passes (each costing a good chunk of money). I bought the "Best" version that has all the DLC and when I popped it open, it felt like I was still missing content (it felt empty/bare-bone). Arc System Works has eaten from the rotten apple that is the practice of slicing up a game and selling it as pieces. They could have added more DLC for the price they're asking, but nope.

Gameplay is alright. Feel's a bit different than Xrd and Revelator. I've been a long time fan and I only got this to complete my collection and to see if -Strive- was worth it. If you're not a big fan or you don't have any reason to buy this (as in you don't have any friends asking you to get it nor are you attending any tournaments) I do not recommend getting this as your start into Guilty Gear. There's plenty of complete Guilty Gear games that FEEL Complete.

6.5/10
