Most of my review are on my personal website below but to sum it up, the game has lost it's identity of being a hardcore high-risk high-reward competitive survival game and now a casual half warzone wannabe. It's just really sad because what we had back in devblog 199 (2018), we had it really really good. Now you look at it and it's a completely different game with all these casual elements to the game, like they're really selling themselves out with the streamers and new gens instead of honoring original community and concept of the game.

Got gonna lie, they have done more than most game companies out there and their work within the engine has served well but unfortunately the same trend applies with nearly every greedy corporate studio these days is ruin their game identity by casualizing tf out of it.

May aswell do a review since im somewhat quitting rust and maining BFV in less than a week. And im a competitive player that focuses on balanced and fun gameplay

In the 2800 hours, (half in duo and half in clans) overall its been really fun and its 100% worth playing. But theres alot of things that need to change for more balanced gameplay that facepunch wont fix. Im gonna list the things of what I like about the game, what I don’t like and what would be good for the game.

Pros:
- Learnable recoil control
- Procedural generated maps
- Majority of the weapons are balanced
- TTK (Time to kill) is good that you can make plays against clans if your good enough
- Optimization is good but getting worse (60-90 fps i5 4590, 80-120 fps i7 8700K. GTX 1080 OC)
- Dedicated updates
- Custom servers
- Enough different monuments to balance out high pop servers
- 50% PvP, 50% Farm. Not like ARK at 90% farm xD.
- Competitive clan community (Dying slowly in AU)

Cons:
- Guns still have aim cone even with the learnable recoil (Even the AK)
- The Bradley APC tank still sees and shoots you through majority of the Launch buildings since day 1
- These days Facepunch is doing a Wildcard (ARK developers), implementing new unnecessary stuff and not fixing the known bugs
- The official wipes only last from Thursday afternoon to Sunday. (Needs more progression)
- Keycards are a chore to get and even more when you lose it in a fight
- Your camera is in the chest area of your character, meaning that someone can see your head even though it looks like you’re in cover.
- Overpowered weapons such as the: Double barrel (Too cheap to make), M249 (Damage), Compound Bow (can literally one tap full gear), somewhat of the M92 (Cheap to buy. Bad a range but really good a close. Basically a mini AK but click speed)
- Bad fps during big raids.
- RNG bad loot in high tier crates. In BP wipes its very frustrating to go to a popular monument for high end loot in elite crates, risking your cards/kits to get useless items.
- Tool cupboard upkeep storage. When your in a clan and have a 200k stone base that can barely have space for 6 hours upkeep.
- High external walls cant place in some spots during PvP. Would be a lot better if it could clip though terrain for building and PvP purposes.
- The new hot air balloon, you can hide in the balloon when its landed and shoot out of it even though people cant see you (might get patched)
- Inconsistent hemp spawns
- When using flashlights you can see more when using it but when you see someone else use it, the light is smaller
- The bow and crossbow does too much damage to metal armour
- When trying to upgrade your base, the upgrade might be blocked due to items being too close
- Outpost will attack you even though you damaged an animal or a barrel
- At night time when it gets too dark you literally cant see anything (I know it was to fix colour setting exploits). The only thing you can do farm wise is recycle and harvest trees without having to expose yourself. Have light-night every night but make shadows darker

Suggestions:
- Keep the card system but make it so you can buy all cards or make them with tech trash.
- Have a custom crafting weapon mechanic where you can dismantle weapons and mix them with other weapons. Example: Mix a thompson body and semi auto rifle barrel that has fire rate and damage as a thompson but range as a semi (Cool idea)
- Remove RNG junk from barrels
- Make Heavy Plate armour have a lot more explosive resistance
- Outpost gives you a warning to shoot on sight either on screen or on map
- Be able to place high walls in radiated areas but decays in 10 seconds
- Show radiated areas on the map
- PvP respawn timer in that area to 2 min apart from raids (Stops clans from zerging back their kits and makes PvP more fair)
- Load maps from local disks instead server side to increase loading speed and fps
