World of Art - learn with Jigsaw Puzzles is a fantastic jigsaw puzzle game that offers up a large variety of puzzles from all different kinds of artists, of all different kinds of styles of paintings, of all different subject matters. As it stands right now, there are 1250 different artworks to choose from (1220 if you do not own the Mature DLC), so the amount of content that this game has is unbelievable!

With that out of the way, there is a progression and unlock system in place where you gain unlocks every time you complete a jigsaw puzzle, depending upon the number of pieces that you solve the puzzle at. Solving the puzzle at 12 pieces grants you a single unlock, 48 pieces grants you 3 unlocks, 108 pieces grants you 9 unlocks, and something is telling me you are granted something like 15 or 24 unlocks for 300 piece puzzles (I don't remember the exact amount). You start off with a single unlock when you open the game that you can use to unlock any of the artworks that you want to. It is my recommendation that you look through all of the different artworks available using the in-game filtering choices and find the one that you like the most and unlock that one to begin, so that you can do it at either 48, 108, or 300 pieces to gain a large chunk of unlocks at the beginning, then after continuing to unlock your favorite artworks, start doing them at 12 pieces so that you can start gaining unlocks quickly and just go through the list one by one and unlock each artwork in succession, then solving the newly unlocked artwork at 12 pieces, and continue the process until you've unlocked every artwork.

New artworks are added quarterly, and the developer is really reactive to the community, so you can always either suggest more artworks from a particular artist, or possibly even suggest a specific artwork from a specific artist that you really like, and chances are that it might get added to the game. The developer is also really interactive with the community about such things as balance and game issues and bugs, working to resolve them as quickly as they can.

There are also three other game modes that you can play if you buy the respective DLCs, Jigtris and Pixels by Numbers, and 3D mode. Both of these DLC go on sale pretty often, and there is also a bundle that includes all of the DLC for the game at a reduced price, and even that goes on sale every once in a while. That being said, there are achievements that require the DLC to be purchased which I am never keen on seeing in games, but it really only matters if you are an achievement hunter and I would only recommend buying the DLCs of the modes that interest you the most.

There are also a lot of different options that you can choose from, from whether or not you want rotation in your puzzle, to other aspects of the game.

There is currently two negatives that I have with this game at the moment:

1. Daily challenges include other game modes if you have the corresponding DLC bought. Sometimes, you get daily challenges like solve Pixels of 256 size (256x1xx canvas), with 128 colors. I'm not sure why this is a daily challenge when it can take upwards of 5-6 hours for someone to complete one of these, and sometimes two are required to be completed in order to complete the daily challenge. There is an achievement that requires you to complete all the daily challenges in one day for a week straight (if memory serves me right), so that can be a problem for those that only want to play the game for shorter periods of time.
2. Some of the achievements are extremely tedious and take a ton of time in order to get. I believe that there is an achievement to solve every single puzzle in the game, as well as one for solving 1,000 different puzzles in 3D Mode. The biggest problem achievements for me are the two that require you to be in a certain position on the in-game score leaderboards: One for being in the top 100 and one for being in the top 10. To get the Top 10 one now would require you to pretty much solve every single puzzle in the game with 12 pieces, and a large portion of the other puzzles in the other sizes. I think both of these achievements should be removed because as time goes on, the amount of work that is required to get these achievements can become unmanageable, and if cheaters start to surface, possibly even impossible to achieve.

All puzzles are traditional cut jigsaws. There are no goofy shapes to worry about.

This is a strong recommendation for the base game, even though I have a few things I don't like about the game, especially if you like jigsaw puzzles!

Coloring Game: Episode 1 is a paid DLC for the game Coloring Game. It adds 30 new images for you to color in. There are some great images to color in in this DLC, but there are a number of others that have subject matter that either do not appeal to me or are just plain weird. There are also two images with the same variations of four colors that you've seen in the base game and in the Mini pack. The upside to this DLC is that the image sizes have increased substantially. While there are still a decent number of images that are under 20,000 pixels, there are four images that are between 50,000 and 62,500 pixels, and on top of that, there is an image with 100,000 pixels, and finally, the one image that makes the price of admission worth it coming in at 330,000 pixels! I estimate that the 330,000 pixel image alone will take you between 7-40+ hours to color in depending upon how you choose to color it in (if you use the fill option, it will take significantly less time). I estimate the entire DLC to take roughly 20 hours to finish if using Fill mode and roughly 60 hours if using the Pen mode.

Pros:

30 new images to color in, again with great variety.
Two absolutely massive images to color in, one at 100,000 pixels and the other at 330,000 pixels.
Good subject matter for a variety of the images.

Neutral:

Two images that contain the same four color variations as the base game and other DLCs.
Subject matter on a number of the images are either turn-offs or just plain weird.

The odd subject matter images and same four color variation images aside, this DLC is yet again another great addition to your Color by Number collection. If the price scares you a little bit, wait for it to go on 10-20% sale and then get it. To me, however, this DLC is worth the price of admission at full price. Highly recommended!

Coloring Game: Mini is a paid DLC for the game Coloring Game. It adds 20 new images for you to color in. Each image ranges in size from 2,400 pixels up to 46,250 pixels. The average completion time of an image should be just around 30-45 minutes, with some of the earlier ones taking a shorter time than that and some of the later ones taking longer than that. In terms of the images added in this DLC, there are two more of those images with variations of the same four colors, and there is some repetition in some of the other images (mainly the isometric view images). I estimate that this DLC should take a maximum of 15 hours to complete.

Pros:

20 new images to color in, with a decent variety in the images.
Price of the DLC is fair for the amount of content given to you.

Neutral:

2 of the images contain variations of the same four colors as three of the images in the base game.
Some of the isometric view images are a bit repetitive.

Overall, this DLC adds a great selection of images to color in and is well worth the price of admission. Highly recommended.

Coloring Game is the first entry in the Coloring Game franchise. It is a Color by Number game, where you color in pixel art pixel by pixel until the entire image is complete and you get to see the image revealed to you, both in photo and a small animation. The base game is free to play, with the option to purchase DLC to unlock more images. I will discuss each of the DLCs in separate reviews on their appropriate pages.

Getting into it, it is a very relaxing game to play and the images that you color in are, for the most part, really interesting. That being said, there are a few images of the 15 you get in the free version that are a bit off the wall. There are also three images that use the same four colors in slightly different shades, which can lead to some dull coloring on those images. Thankfully, the remaining 12 images are very nice and fun to color in. The average image size to color in seems to be around 13-14,000 pixels, which should take roughly 30-60 minutes to color in. 7 of the images you can color in will take less time than that, 5 of them will take that time frame, 3 of them will take longer than 60 minutes, and 1 of them will take up to 120 minutes to color in. Of those images, the three aforementioned images will take a lot less time given that there are only four colors to fill in.

Configuration and other options are plentiful in this game series. You have your standard display and audio options, and you also have the option to color in the images using either a tablet hooked up to your computer or using the mouse. There is also an auto-save option, as well as an option to change what you see in terms of how much of the image you have colored in. You can remove that option if you want a zen-like coloring experience, you can also change it so that it follows the current color being colored in, or for it to display your overall progress. There is also an option to change which color the squares of the selected color are highlighted in, making it much easier to color in the images, and you can also change the borders of the squares to make them less pronounced or to remove them all together.

In terms of other gameplay elements, if you would rather not have to color in each individual square of a group of the same color, you can choose the fill option and then when clicking on a group of the same color that are connected with each other, it fills in the entire group (at least the part of the group that is visible on the screen). You can also use the mouse wheel to change the level of zoom from super close in to super far out to fit you coloring needs.

Finally, if you would rather watch the image literally color itself, you can use the JOE feature to have Joe the Sloth color in the image for you, albeit at a much slower pace than you could color in the image yourself.

Pros:

15 images to choose from in the free version, with a great variety of art to color in.
Lots of quality of life features to make coloring in the images much easier on you.
Tons of customization and other options to choose from
Relaxing and super fun to play

Neutral:

DLC prices are slightly too expensive.

Cons:

I found the music in-game to be fairly grating after listening to it for a while.

Overall, this game is a must-have if you are a Color by Number game fan! Cannot recommend the base game enough!

This is a weak recommendation for this game.

Path of Exile is a freemium RPG hack and loot game following in the footsteps of games like Diablo II, but it is nothing like the aforementioned game. You start out on a beach in the first act and as you progress through the game, completing quests, you unravel a much larger story that ends up with you taking on an overwhelming, powerful evil at the end of Act V.

What differentiates itself immediately after doing this is that right after completing Act V, that isn't the end of the story. You then have to go through five additional acts of content and at the very end, after much trial and tribulation, you can defeat the overwhelming, powerful evil once and for all at the end of Act X.

After you finish Act X, you enter the post-game, where there is more content for you to do, such as running maps for better gear, and as always, leveling up your character and skill gems to their maximum levels possible.

As with a lot of free-to-play games, there is continual new content as well as "leagues" that you can play in, but I will talk about that more in the pros, cons, and neutral points down below.

If there is an asterisk after a Pro or Neutral point for this game, that means that there is a corresponding con that goes along with it.

Pros:
+As mentioned above, the passive skill tree system is absolutely massive, which allows for many different types of builds and a lot of replayability. Each different character that you play will use a different type of build.*
+The story of the game is very well written and really makes you connect with the characters in the game.*
+All of the different mechanics in the game, such as the unique way you buy equipment, to the way you gain skills on your character are all extremely unique and fun to play around with.*
+The game is free-to-play.*
+The game offers new content fairly often in the form of new leagues that you can play in, and after certain leagues are finished, they could be added to the base game to add new content to those that just play in the Standard League.*
+The music and audio for this game are very well done, in my opinion.*
+The areas that you play through are pretty varied and each of them have a lot to do.*
+The quests are varied and very interesting to play through.*
+After you finish the story campaign, there is a ton of post-game content that you can do to keep you engaged.*
+Each league you enter has a set of challenges that you can do to prove to yourself and others how good you are at the game. These are fairly varied and somewhat fun to do.*
+The games' microtransactions, especially with some of the armor sets, are beautiful to look at.*

Cons:
-Unfortunately, while the passive skill tree is massive, there is only a small selection of character builds that you can use (as defined by the meta of the game), which means that if you don't follow a build guide for the kind of character that you want to play, you can easily screw yourself over through allocating passive skill points in the wrong spots while playing the game. This leads into my next point:
-This game is not noob friendly. This is one of the biggest sticking points that I have with this game. New players will literally load into the game and then they will play through the game, without paying much attention to how their are building their characters, only to have themselves be walled later on down the road because they lacked the knowledge and information required in order to build a successful character in this game. In addition, this isn't helped by the fact that certain things that could help them out are pains to get, and because of a lot of other things that I will bring up later. The previous two points lead into my next point:
-Because there are so many different mechanics built into this game, it can be very paralyzing to new players when learning and trying to do them for the first time. New(er) players won't ever get to the point where they'll be doing some of these mechanics to actually get meaningful stuff from them.
-Almost all of the good things in this game, whether it be powerful Orbs or Unique equipment, or Tarot Cards with great effects, or high tier and quality maps will take dozens if not hundreds of hours of play in order to gather. This is especially true to new(er) players.
-After you do the first gameplay loop, everything gets stale (music, audio, areas, quests) pretty quickly.
-There are a lot of missable things in PoE that if not done right when they are available, become permanently lost and you will literally have to replay the game from the beginning. This is the case with the environmental lore, NPC dialogues, and waypoints. There is an achievement attached to each of them.
-While the leagues do offer new content, this new content is usually less rewarding and harder for new(er) players to do. In addition, with the start of every new league, players have to start a new character, which means that they have to play through the story every time they play a new league. I find this to be a massive turnoff because you literally have to slog through what you've already played in order to get to the good stuff.
-Every new league, there are challenges that you can do for them. Unfortunately, a lot of these challenges require either ridiculous amount of grinding, the ability to beat very difficult bosses, sometimes with additional conditions attached to them, and are otherwise a pain to complete. This is further complicated by the next point that I am about to make:
-Every new league has a "Battle Pass" type system that you have to buy into every new league, and in order to gain everything from this battle pass, you have to complete every challenge for that league. Given what I stated above, there are only like 1% of the players that are able to do this on a regular basis, and this seems like the developers are catering to these players.
-All of the microtransactions are severely overpriced for what they are. While some of them do look really cool, the problem is that it costs too much to get them, especially if you are on a budget. This includes the Battle Pass. A set of cosmetic armor can cost you from $30-60 to get, or even more because of this next point:
-Every new league, new Supporter Packs are put out that contain sets of cosmetic equipment and other things that you can get. The problem with these is that they are severely overpriced, and if you want to get every cosmetic for every league, you'll have to put down north of $300 every three months to do so. This doesn't take into account the thousands of hours you'd have to play during the three months to get all of the Battle Pass's cosmetics for each league as well, nor the cost of said battle pass.
-This game is full of FOMO, which isn't a good practice to do.

Honestly, while there are a ton of negatives, the overall game is good enough to very weakly recommend.

This expansion adds thousands more images for you to color in and is a perfect way to relax if you looking for something that isn't too mentally taxing.

EDIT: After playing the game more, I cannot in good conscience, recommend this DLC at all. Not only is there a power-up that colors in half of the image for you, another of the power-ups literally fills in entire colors for you. In addition to this, the manual drawing for this game are absolutely abysmal. Squares are not filled in fast enough and you find yourself having to double back too many times for my liking.

Another great pack with a large variety of images and colors in each image, with each image being detailed enough to get a lot of enjoyment out of coloring them in. These are the kinds of packs I was hoping we'd start getting, and I'm glad we are getting them now! Definite recommend!

One of the best new DLCs to release for this game. There is a lot of variety when it comes to the type of images used in this pack, and the colors used in each image. The detail that is present in every image is great and makes for pure enjoyment when coloring in. Definite recommend!

In short: This game is a short idle game about making a garden and growing a mysterious acorn tree in the center of your garden. You gain helpers called Mellows as you discover more things that you can plant, and eventually, you discover the secrets of the mystic acorn tree.

In long: Plantera 2: Golden Acorn is the sequel to Plantera. It is a combination of an idle, resource management, and farm simulator game. As with Plantera, the game is very simplistic in its approach and is very easy to understand what is going on in the game. You basically get Helpers called Mellows that will go around picking up all kinds of items that drop on the ground from plants, bushes, trees, birds and other animals, the acorn tree itself, and other various things. As you continue to play and level up, more and more plants, bushes, trees, animals, decorations, hats, and other special items will become available to you, as well as additional Mellows that you can use to help pick up more items left on the ground.

There are various "critters" (bad animals) that will appear on your farm based upon where you are in the game and what kinds of animals you have on your garden. There are items that reduce the chances of these "critters" appearing on your Garden, but these items can end up costing you a fortune and don't get rid of all of the creatures possible. There is another special item that you can unlock that is essentially a guard dog that will also help repel critters, and there is another special item that you can build (fencing) that reduce the overall amount of critters that you will encounter. Finally, there are Scarecrows that you can use to scare of Magpies that will swoop in and carry away items that are left on the ground for too long. If you do not deal with the critters that appear, they will scare certain animals based upon what critter it is, preventing them from producing items that give gold.

The game's pacing is a lot offputting at first, but eventually, you'll be gaining levels so quickly that it doesn't really matter. That said, the beginning of the game is very slow, but eventually picks up exponentially as you gain levels and unlock more things. It is highly recommended that you do NOT close the game before unlocking the ability for your Mellows to work for you offline, as this will help with the production of coins that you will need to purchase stuff in the future.

Lastly, there is a final currency that you can get based off of the amount of decoration points you gain. Decoration points are gained slowly over time and the output of decoration points can be increased by placing decorations on your farm, as well as planting all of the various other things you can plant in the game in your garden. By doing this, and when you decoration point bar completes, it will reset and you will gain one Golden Acorn. These are used to purchase upgrades, all of which are beneficial. The first like 10 you get should be put into getting your tree level up to a decent level, and the rest should be spent on the various upgrades that unlock when your tree reaches certain levels.

Here's the pros and cons:

Pros
*Extremely engaging idea and game. This game has just enough depth to keep your interest in it, while still keeping things relatively simple.
*Game is extremely fun to play, even if the beginning is a bit on the slow side. This is accentuated by the barrage of new things you can do in your Garden that happen very often.
*Game is very relaxing and calming. If you're anxious, boot up this game and you'll feel anxiety melt away.
*Music in this game is very well done. Again, if you're anxious, boot up this game, and just by listening to the soundtrack, you'll feel that anxiety melt away.
*Achievements are varied and overall fun to unlock.

Cons
*Game is extremely short. You can get every achievement in the game in under 5 hours, and at the price tag it is at ($4.99), I do not feel as though you get your money's worth out of this game.
*Game can become somewhat repetitive after a while. Playing in short sessions can alleviate this.

Overall, this game is a perfect game to pick up if you just want a relaxing game to play and I definitely recommend this game, but wait for it to go on at least a 50% sale before buying, unless you want to support the developer, in which case, buy it at full price.

In short: An absolutely great jigsaw puzzle game that features all of the puzzles in four different sizes with all of the features that a lot of people who are Jigsaw Puzzle purists love: Traditionally cut jigsaw pieces, no weird shapes or edges in the center of the puzzle, trays for sorting, connecting pieces outside of the puzzle, and more.

In long: Super Jigsaw Puzzle: Generations is a great jigsaw puzzle game that has a wide variety of jigsaw puzzles that you can play in four different sizes: 60, 200, 400, and 800 pieces. The amount of care that is shown with which pictures are used for each puzzle is absolutely incredible and on-point with the theme. There are a ton of features that jigsaw puzzle purists will absolutely love: traditionally cut jigsaw pieces, meaning there's no weird shapes or edges in the middle of the puzzle, trays for sorting, and putting pieces together outside of the puzzle. There are also things in this game that achievement hunters will absolutely love: No DLC is really required to get all of the achievements that this game has to offer, a free puzzle is released with every DLC that is released, and you have puzzles inside of the game that you can work towards unlocking with the coins that you earn whenever you complete a puzzle. The amount of coins earned per completed puzzle is equal to the number of pieces the puzzle was, so if you complete a 200 piece puzzle, you get 200 coins.

This leads into the pros and cons for this game:

Pros:

*Traditionally cut jigsaw pieces. No more edges in the middle of the puzzle or weird shapes just to artificially increase the difficulty of puzzles.
*You are able to connect puzzle pieces together that haven't already been placed in the puzzle.
*Images for each puzzle are picked with care and fit the theme of whatever pack they are in.
*Each puzzle comes in four different sizes: 60, 200, 400, and 800 pieces. More information in the Cons section.
*The game starts you out with a pretty sizable amount of free images, and an additional free image is released every time a new DLC Is released.
*The game also has a shop where you can spend the coins that you earn in the game to unlock new free puzzles to solve. More information in the Cons section.
*If the pricing of the DLC scares you, a good number of them go on steep sales somewhat frequently, with some of them reaching up to 90% off at times.

Cons
*The pricing for some of the DLC for this game is fairly steep.
*Each image in the in-game shop that you can unlock with coins costs 10,000 coins each, and there's a fairly large amount of them, so it might take a really long time to unlock every free image from the shop. I think that they could have made the pricing a bit more reasonable.
*Graphics and UI feel a little outdated to me.
*Audio/Music aren't really desirable to me.
*There is no option to use your own images.

If you are a jigsaw puzzle purist who likes traditionally cut jigsaw puzzles, and you want a free game that has a good amount of puzzles that you can play right away, this is a no-brainer for you and can easily recommend this game. All you have to do is after you finish all of the free puzzles, just wait for the DLC to go on steep discount and then buy them at that steep discount. None of the DLC are worth the full purchase price. Always wait for them to go on at least 50% discount before buying.
