Astounding deep, addicting game of medieval strategy that players of CK2 will feel right at home within, but with enough QoL changes that complete beginners will be able to ease in far better then prior Paradox grand-strat games. Fantastic game, highly recommend.

The Longing is a fun activity that I can recommend.

Played for many hours elsewhere, still one of the best shooty MMO-lite games out there. Now that its free, you owe it to yourself to at least give it a try if you have the slightest interest in fun, well-designed gunplay and good (occasionally great) lore.

While you will almost certainly get your duplicates horrifically killed over and over again, you learn more and more each time. A wonderfully deep and complex game that rewards your persistence and makes you feel like a genius when you get some setup or system working as intended.

As someone who doesn't usually enjoy BR games much (not for want of trying), I've fallen in love with this one. Matches are quick and fast paced, I very rarely feel unfairly outclassed/outgunned, and the devs/mods are friendly and very helpful. Also good for target practice (Sorry about that instant kill, Josh).

Below is a slow, methodical game. This is a good thing. If you're looking for an action-packed slash-em-up 'horror' game, you're in the wrong place; if you enjoyed Darkwood, you'll enjoy this.

Having never properly played any of the prior X games, I've nonetheless been told they're like Mount and Blade in space. I've only played a few hours so far, and not unlike my initial time with MnB, first impressions wheren't exactly great; kind of cluttered UI, tutorials that, while helpful, aren't that great at filling you in....but already, having barely waded out into the galaxy, I can see the sheer drop-off of depth in this game. I can't wait to dive in proper.

After the fiasco two years back, Hello Games seems to have made an enjoyable space exploration game. Price may still be a little steep at full price, but if you like the idea of exploring and colonizing your own little chunk of the galaxy, I'd highly reccomend it.

A really interesting mix of tabletop board games combined with a really charming style. Amazing fun when combined with a couple friends!
