Early Access Review
Terrible, just no
I bought this as a joke and ironically the joke is the game itself. Let me tell you why:

Songs
This is M2U's passion project game - the dude is very well known rhythm game composer, which explains why most of the songs in this game are his songs. Because of it, while the songs are fitting for a rhythm game, M2U's limited style of music has caused the whole library to sound the same, you play 1 song of M2U and you feel like you already listened to 3/4 of the whole library (the remaining 1/4 is Memme). Memme songs are okay, nothing amazing to write home about.

Gameplay
Let's move on to the charts, it is just....... very peculiar , the charting in this game feels incredibly amateur, the speed and flow is all over the place. It feels as if the charter is trying too hard to make charts that are above his playing level and not have a good understanding the flow of the difficulty. It either feels way too fast for the song in a split second, like the charts are having a seizure.
The judgement ranges from HYPER BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT, GREAT, GOOD, MISS. My gripe for this timing window is that it is way too strict, the timing window for HYPER BRILLIANT is way too tight while the BRILLIANT is way too loose, creating terrible accuracy makes reaching SSS (or all HYPER BRILLIANT) feels impossible especially the game also has bad syncing problem.

Modes
The game is in early access right now (by the time I'm writing this and possibly forever in early access) so I can't complain too much about the lack of game modes. The game at the moment has 2 modes: Radio and Survival Mode.
Radio is basically your bread and butter singleplayer mode, where you play the game by yourself. The game only has 2 difficulties: Normal and Hard (yup that's it only 2 diff) ranging from 1 to 14, you have your standard speed notes tab, random tab and fade in/fade out (the usual stuff). It feels barebone but it is serviceable.
Survival mode is something that the real elephant in the room. I think this mode is very stupid in terms of idea and execution, the idea is you and many other players get together a lobby and the game will select a random song with random diff and you and other players try to survive by going through a certain score threshold as long as you can while trying to achieve the best score as possible, sounds good on paper until the devs decided to add effector like highspeed and soflan in the middle of the song for no reason, isn't the scoring high enough, seems unnecessary making the execution of the mode feels very messy. Not to mention this game is very dead so all the players I was matched with are all bots and they will always score the same songs every time, 2nd will always be over 635k which is basically 50% of the score song (you literally can't lose). It still says season 1 beta till this day.

Minor good points
Game has 4k, 5k and 6k....I guess that's a minor plus (this game has so many Ls that this is considered a W)
The game is no longer grindy as many old reviews suggested because the game has basically unlocked all the Memme songs.
I have no problem booting up the game although the game did get freeze 1 time.
The menu UI and animation look pretty good.

Back to criticism
Because the game has unlocked everything, the game has no progression, nothing to unlock or incentive to continue especially with the incredible lack of content.
Bad mistranslations (probably AI).
Game has not gotten any updates for the past 17 months and the last update is just 1 song.
This is the worst part of the game.....most of the jacket covers (probably all of them but I have no evidence) use AI generated art.

TLDR
VVAV.ONE is an abandonware game that is envisioned by M2U. Apparently this game's promo videos have been deleted from his social media platforms so that is something to think twice.
The game has potential but that potential has been thrown away by their own creators trying to seek for easy W and success but to no avail.
My advice: get better games such as DJMAX RESPECT V, EZ2ON REBOOT R and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice or even god forbid osu!mania because VVAV.ONE has set the bar so low that probably going outside and touching grass is better than this.

Good game, a very old school zelda style-ish game with a combination of puzzle solving and challenging combat.
However puzzles can get quite overwhelming if you are not a puzzle enthusiast, fortunately for me I love solving stuff so this is my jam but I do have to say that the pacing and the balance between puzzle and combat is very jarring. It would be better if they can tone down the puzzle aspect

I'm writing this review for the sole purpose for helping my Ezio lovers to play this game through this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ launcher called Uplay (I hate Ubisoft as much as you do but I still love their old games). If anyone of you who bought this game and having trouble playing this game because of this godforsaken launcher, you need to do one thing:
- Uninstall Uplay
- Download Ubisoft connect from your internet browser
- Boot your AC2 or any ubisoft games on steam
- Enjoy your game
