I really really wanted to enjoy this game, but like a good amount of cases with these indie early access titles it's just so buggy. Within my first 5 minutes of playing the game crashed and my entire computer froze up, and I'm running a GTX 1070 and a very recent I7 processor, so my computer is definitely able to run this game.
I had to restart my computer and when I started the game up again I just kept running into issues, the villagers were constantly starving despite me having more then enough farms avaliable. The buildings kept randomly catching on fire, the advisors wouldn't stop pinging despite their messages being the same.
I understand it's a early access recently released game, but in my opinion they should have waited a bit longer before releasing this game. It has far to many issues to be playable, I paused the game to go talk to a family member and when I came back all my buildings were on fire and half of them were destroyed. Pausing the game doesn't even pause that, if that's not a sign that it was released too early then I don't know what is.
I'll end this by saying the game has a great concept and is getting into a genre I personally love and wish more big companies invested their time in. But as of now it lacks content and is far to buggy, the game has potential and is by all means not bad. Just not exactly playable at the moment. I'd recommend this to someone who wants to support a developer, but not to someone who wants an actual game to play for hours on end.

No mods, No fun.

As someone who has seen the game from an outsiders and an insiders perspective, I can say that the majority should wait before wasting their money on this game.

(Outsider) I spent the first year owning this trying to make this work, putting it in old beta, literally turning off every other program running, and reading every article I could find out there. Though my computer is rather old it's no excuse for this game to run the way it does, I get 100+ frames on Cs:Go and Garry's mod. Yet the best I ever got was 15 frames. (AND THAT'S IN THE TUTORIAL!!) What annoyed me the most was the fact that they wrote on their page "Space Engineers is an Early Access game, which means that it is still under development but already in a very playable state" Which is true for those with an $1000+ computer, but those who don't want to spend 1k on a computer are left with a slideshow! They only release an update maybe 3-4 times a month, but everytime it's something like "fixed slight bugs with the thrusters" They haven't bothered fixing the issue that makes half of their playerbase give up on the game! It's like they don't know what they're doing!

(insider) Now after I got a much better computer I can actually play the game at a stable 60-80+ frames, and playing alone is terrible! First of all the tutorial is based off of the game and isn't even soley developed to be a tutorial, it's literally just some text boxes and machines. Then you don't even have the option to go onto the next tutorial, you have to exit and load every single one of them seperately. I'd also like to point out the fact that loading can be anywhere from 2-10 minutes and there's around 15 tutorials Meaning you have to find someone who actually knows how to play the game and learn from them, then by the time you load in... THE GAME FREEZES!! And guess what? You have to turn off your computer manually, because task manager doesn't work because of it! This happened to me 5 times until I finally got into my friends game, AND THEN HE CRASHED!


In conclusion this game is not only extremely unplayable to low-end computers, but the bugs in it make it an annoying and overall bad experience for the user. I purchased this game thinking it would be fun and nice to play with my friends... Well, a year and a half later I can easily say that was a stupid thought. #NoMansSkyFTW

I love this game! i have over 900 hours and wil continue growing.

I absolutely hate this game it seems like they didn't even try to change the controlls in that 1 MONTH THEY HAD TO FIX IT. I prepurchased it and was so excited for something good to play, but the controls are so bad that i can't even beat the first enemy! 2/10

The game is amazing and really something you could sink plenty of hours into. My only complaints about the game would be the fact that you never really discover where exactly you need to put the game bars, plus you also never get enough workers to fit into all of the Categories for those bars. You're always estimating where exactly (+++ ++ - -- ---) is. I've just guessed that they all go by 25%, but even then you'd have to get a mod to see where those percentages are on the bar.
