TOG2 is not what I was expecting. I mean that in a good way. From the videos I saw on the TOG discord, I was skeptic. Read a couple of positive reviews and thought, eh, why not. I sure am glad I made this investment.. A 30% off investment since I owned and bundled with TOG1!

It's only been about 30 minutes so far. Enough to do the quick tutorial (which really only covers how to give commands), then jump into Syria and fight against some relic soviet wielding typical black traditional wear bad guys. I lasted about 20 minutes until I walked my squad into an ambush from which we were engaged from a third story rooftop by two snipers. We were able to back into an alleyway while I tried to direct Bravo squad to push to the opposite side to draw their fire. Before I could even click the buttons on the tablet, we were engaged by two RPGs from the rooftop at the end of the alley. The first took out Natalia. The second hit right beside me.

There is some jank, yes. But it's some jank that I have no doubts BlackTale will transform into a terrific game just like they did with the first one.

Update: It's still meh.

Dev did a great job pulling his initially perceived flop of a gameplay direction into an engaging and logical story-driven campaign. The quicksave option is a great idea as it allows a stressful manic rush to the objectives with the ease of mind knowing you can just load if you take a few seconds longer than anticipated as you forgot to open a door in your path. I've only played about 10 minutes of sandbox, in which every tool you unlock in the campaign is available. I enjoy the hell out of lighting a corner of a house on fire, running to a red truck, race the truck back to the fire, and let loose with the extinguisher in an attempt to salvage what's left of this poor dude's cabin.

10/10 Would be a volunteer virtual firefighter again.

Diablo-isk. Don't play on normal difficulty though, it is way to easy.

Like a few others, I purchased BOS as soon as it hit Steam some odd years ago. I was a HUGE fan of 1946 and the great memories I had flying campaigns and dogfighting Zeros over the Pacific. The first impressions I had the many years ago was "hmm, it's funish, but not 1946". Through the years I kept coming back and trying it out after major updates and saying "wow! that's pretty neat!". I can now say (after I forked over my wallet, emptied my savings, and handed the dev the keys to my house) that all the updates and DLCs have established this as the GOAT WW2 Flight Sim. Yeah, the business model isn't the greatest or most consumer friendly, but I swear I'll keep making it rain if they keep dropping bomb content.

It's Mount and Blade on steroids. Most of the same great recipe from Warband with upgraded visuals and a few new ingredients. Large army fights (500+) are insane.. Don't like bugs or weirdisms, wait for full release.

Spend your Coronavirus bailout on a VR headset and play the best experience of the decade. Also, screw barnacles. Update: hate hotels now, thanks.

If you are looking for a game that makes you go through many emotions and occasional arrhythmia in one hour segments, this is it. I've walked around, viewed the scenery, get jumped by a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mechanical headcrab and had to yank the SOB off while trying to stay quiet as I panic and beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of my head with my controller , solved simple and complex physics puzzles, and felt like John friggin Wick as I use my Glock to slay (null)bodies. The physics are absolutely incredible. Like grabbing a sledgehammer and trying to beat guys down feels sluggish and heavy, while taking a hatchet and laying waste feels nimble and quick. The object physics are about what you'd expect; it's very similar to HL2 with the puzzles. The firearms are pretty smooth. Handguns are simple, the M16/4 are okay, not the best. They just feel too heavy, which they aren't as cumbersome in the real. Besides rambling about my experiences, I just wanted to give this a positive rate as I saw a bunch of dorks whining about it not working for their sets. To address the biggest complaint here: Yes, it might not save a lot.. Not even sure when/if it saves. I get around this by completing the level. Just make sure you block off an hour to complete it (that's exploring everything too.)

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I just got a rift s two days ago and I can't put this down. I've read a bunch of reviews saying how awful the rift s is with H3VR. Complete rubbish. I've only run into two issues (once I got the super in-depth movement options tuned to how I like it): 1) racking pistol slides back like I do outside of VR (grabbing the back grip and pulling). Instead you have to grab the front of the slide and pull.. That's it, after 15 minutes of remind yourself how to do it it's fine. Others, like the Luger, can be a bit finicky with the slide mechanic, but there's a sweet spot that you'll figure out in a few minutes of playing with it. 2) Holding an RPG-7 like you would actually hold an RPG-7 is wonky because you have your off hand behind your main hand and it makes the sensors go ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Nothing in my library made me more proud, scared, tired, and laugh more than playing a full game of Take and Hold and beating it. Hey speaking of beating it, side-story, one game I was screwed from the beginning with a single load Rhino or something (don't do revolvers). I loaded my five or six in and went on, when clearing a room of meat, I expended all my ammo taking out three of them, but left one standing behind cover taking pot shots at me. I closed the gap to the nearest cover which was the same cover he was behind. I clicked what I thought was the cylinder release, but instead it turned the gun around so I was holding the barrel in my hands. I came around the corner of the partition and started whacking this hot dog in the f'ing face with the handle until his head exploded. Most satisfying kill I've had. Anyway, TLDR; the stories generated, Take and Hold gamemode, hyper realistic gunplay/physics, and regular updates make this my favorite VR game. Edit: Wish I could vote it for GOTY.

X4 is one of the only games I've started up, played for 4 hours straight, realize what time it was then shrug and proceed to play for two more hours until I pass out during a hands off transit.

I bought X3 a couple years ago and never really got into it. Found it too difficult to find missions and a motive for playing. When I saw X4 release, I hesitated because of the price tag but it has been a great investment. I hate writing reviews, but EGOSOFT deserves to hear applause.

I started off not knowing what the loving hell I was doing. I think I started on a station in Argon territory and I quickly found the tutorial section in the menus. I praised the tutorial menu until I found it to be limited. I kept going. I figured out how to take off, fly fowards, backwards, up/down/sideways, and how to group weapons to fire groups (at first I go whaaaat does that mean?). So then I was at the same position, what do I do now? I never like trading, even though I love living economy aspects driven by players. I found missions easily, learned to craft easy items to sell to traders, xenon raiders to blast away in addrenaline fueled ecstatic rage, bought more planes, hired more people to assist me in my squadron, even started sending people to fetch components for wharfs after the storage was hit by a pirate and they couldn't finish my heavy fighter.

I started to find the fights easy and unchallenging as they were just against small xenon recons or raiders. Then one mission did me in. I destroyed some laser turrets that an organization placed around a wharf I used after being asked by the company to destroy them as they were detering people from coming to the wharf. I did so (very fun mission as well, grinning and gritting while yelling about the fracking lasers hitting my hull as I was dipping in between each turret attempting to break angle of attack, back to topic) which caused the faction that placed them to put me on their S list while the company that needed help called me an ally. The next engagement that I participated in was involving this new faction. As I closed in to the weapon engagement zone, I see a heat seaker fly off the starboard side of the Falcon in front of me. I have no flares, I've never seen this before, I try to break right but it was too late. The missile struck my bow and depleted my shield as well as around 65% of my hull. Luckily, my ion cannon disabled his shield and my wingman's pulse laser tore his hull apart. I escaped, but had to do an EVA to repair my hull, which took a while (but I didn't have to pay an equipment dock to repair it.. I'm cheap).

I thought, cool, that was interesting. Kind of spices things up. But still seems easy. On my way to a mission, my opinion about being a BAMF took a turn as I came out of a warp gate with a fleet of xenon raiders and two raider capital destroyers in territory I'd been transiting for a while. I turn and begin an ascent to engage the fighters above me. I take out two of the dozen or so, while security drones and sector faction ships assault the rest of the fighters and begin engaging the capital ships. I watch the friendly ships give their best effort to defend their home, but ultimately buy the farm in the end. I turn to make a last ditch effort to escape through the warp gate, but as I turn around I'm met with another two squadrons of xenon fighters. My hull is destroyed in about five seconds. Game over appears on the screen as I watch my scorched and destroyed heavy fighter float through the vast space. I laugh and hit the quick load from the quick save at the beginning of the fight. I love this game.

TL;DR (don't blame you, I ramble): If you love free form sandbox space simulators with a living universe with a simple formula with a very deep and broad depth, get this fracking game. Regular price can seem intimidating, but I've gotten more enjoyment out of this title than a lot of AAA games I've spent more on.

If I see you in my universe, make no mistake, I will blow you out of the sky.. See you out there.

It's pretty good. I think A2 is better in ways, but A3 takes the cake with the visuals and features. The feel of A3 is much more immersive than A2 by far.
