Early Access Review
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I just got a rift s two days ago and I can't put this down. I've read a bunch of reviews saying how awful the rift s is with H3VR. Complete rubbish. I've only run into two issues (once I got the super in-depth movement options tuned to how I like it): 1) racking pistol slides back like I do outside of VR (grabbing the back grip and pulling). Instead you have to grab the front of the slide and pull.. That's it, after 15 minutes of remind yourself how to do it it's fine. Others, like the Luger, can be a bit finicky with the slide mechanic, but there's a sweet spot that you'll figure out in a few minutes of playing with it. 2) Holding an RPG-7 like you would actually hold an RPG-7 is wonky because you have your off hand behind your main hand and it makes the sensors go ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Nothing in my library made me more proud, scared, tired, and laugh more than playing a full game of Take and Hold and beating it. Hey speaking of beating it, side-story, one game I was screwed from the beginning with a single load Rhino or something (don't do revolvers). I loaded my five or six in and went on, when clearing a room of meat, I expended all my ammo taking out three of them, but left one standing behind cover taking pot shots at me. I closed the gap to the nearest cover which was the same cover he was behind. I clicked what I thought was the cylinder release, but instead it turned the gun around so I was holding the barrel in my hands. I came around the corner of the partition and started whacking this hot dog in the f'ing face with the handle until his head exploded. Most satisfying kill I've had. Anyway, TLDR; the stories generated, Take and Hold gamemode, hyper realistic gunplay/physics, and regular updates make this my favorite VR game. Edit: Wish I could vote it for GOTY.
