A Majestic Adventure In “Wormtown”

Last Train Outta’ Wormtown is an absolute gem of a game. Get(Color) Games (aka. Vyvian) is a solo developer for this game. Let that sink in. Wormtown is a game that ingeniously combines strategy, action, and sheer hilarity in an experience that will leave you wanting more.

The moment I launched Wormtown, my initial thought was that it might just be one of those games that I might play for a few hours and then not touch again. Boy was I wrong. It's clear that Vyvian poured his heart and soul into creating an entertaining game that's as delightful to explore as it is to chase through.

But what changed my mind? Wormtown has a brilliantly unique gameplay premise. Playing as the Worm you find yourself chasing after the Pardners who are desperately trying to leave the town. This might sound like any other asymmetrical game but a refreshing dose of humor and unpredictability is what makes it so fun. Strategising your moves to capture the fleeing Pardners becomes much more fun than you would realise, and the accomplishment you feel when you successfully capture someone is awesome.

The main part of this game that I love is the partner side. As fun as it can be to gobble Pardners left right and centre, being one of those who are running for their life and are strategically avoiding the worm is way too much fun than it should be.

Another reason that made me want to keep playing was the community. If you haven’t joined the Discord server yet you’re missing out. I know that I have found some new friends there and I'm sure you will too. Also if you ever have a problem not having anyone to play with, the Discord server is the place to go.

Kudos must be given to Vyvian for the amazing game he's made and the community it’s created. It's clear that they not only possess a deep understanding of the game and community but also a great sense of creativity that has made so many people enjoy this game.
