Immediate response: I love it... For the most part. (Taking in mind that this is in Early Access Development.) as long as development continues, this is a cabinet game I will revisit. This game is having me think about making a DIY cabinet!

Desktop: The Menu screen WILL need full controller support. As is, the menu is not navigable using a controller.

getting started: (power on the controller you will use, but discard it temporarily until you are playing with the cabinet.) Once you get through the menu's, you use the E key to interact. navigate to the door in front of you, press E, navigate to the cabinet, and press E on the panel on the front of the cabinet. You will have difficulty options, and a red button. Hover your mouse over the red button and press E. This is where I would switch to using a Controller.

VR (Oculus 3): OKAY, this was exceptionally difficult to get started. I tried starting the game before starting Steam VR, and I tried starting the game via Steam VR. The only way I could get the VR version to work was by using Virtual Desktop, and starting the game in the VD Game Menu. Once started... There was a lot of black bar visual artifacts. I navigated to the cabinet and the VR experience was growing better. (less artifacts, smoother game play.) I did notice a noticeable input lag. My best guess is to try and use a controller connected to the PC instead of the VR controllers.

Final Remarks: Please polish this bad boy! it has a beautiful environment and the Desktop version is sooo close to working perfectly. Gameplay itself is mostly bug free, it's the environmental interactions that need assistance.

I've played this game before on xbox 360 and loved the game... Unfortunately, I keep on getting a crash on booting the game. Big Oof.

This game is the predecessor of the original Subnautica. And that game is a beast full of content. I hope that they continue making this early access the best there ever was. (side note to devs. Put something more sinister / scary lookin' over with the cave flowers. Like the heat grubs in the first game... maybe something that feeds off the flowers waste?)
