it's like playing Dragon's dogma mages without the 60 second casting time.
I'm on my first playthrough in chapter 5 at the moment and I feel like a god of destruction, made 2 spells Familiars and channel-casting lightning balls like 10 per second that each zap everythin around them. Only downside is I can't loot houses anymore becasue they get destroyed within 50 meters of me.
This game fits the "power fantasy" genre.

Kind of Skyrim, kind of Diablo.

I started off by skipping everything in the first village and paid for that with 2 hours of constantly dying. Invited a friend to co-op via Remote Play and we went back to first village and it was fun clearing out dungeons and building our characters.
After unlocking smelting it went into a bit of a grind, where i'd leave my character mining for hours and go live my life, and when i'd come back i could skip to the latest tier of gear that's possible to craft. So basically from ♥♥♥♥♥♥ gear to top gear for my level.
Dungeons still stay somewhat challenging unless youre going mage and abusing scaling effects.
Game's story seems kinda short and it's always "it's dangerous but maybe you can do it" and "i lost X in Y can you get it back for me for some potions and 500 exp" quests.

Nice game to grind, all of the crafting systems share a similar minigame and some are way harder (takes longer to craft 1 item) to level up than others.

Very good game, I found it interesting it took a different route than the earlier story-based flash games with stores and NPC's and stuff. Granted I only played it for 0.5 hours so far but I kinda like it. When you stop playing your score turns into unlocking new stuff, which gives it a bit of a rogue-lite feel that you unlock stuff for the next time you play.
Gameplay is fun and interesting, and somewhat reminiscent of the old flash game era.

EDIT: Finished the storymode and tried a bit of Endless mode. There's not much else to do than compete with the Leaderboard for the trainings or just blasting through Endless mode. Money has lost all value and I don't really care for the pet system. Still a good sequel, and got 8,5hours of entertainment for my first run.


So far I'm only 7 hours in, Chapter V in the story.
I used to play the flash game alot which might be how I progressed so quickly, but the progress didn't come on its own.
The minigames are as fun as I remember, although alot more enjoyable on fullscreen 1920x1080 resolution.
I'm not sure if the game is running 144fps but the minigames are smooth, although they get quite challenging after Platinum rank (Looking at you Ranged training)
Weapons didn't seem that important, I was just using the 2h sword until Chapter V where I switched to a Staff once I unlocked the final skill.

All in all, 10/10 sequel to the original and well deserved to be in my Favorites.
Worth the price for new people to the series, go try out the flash game before buying.

it WAS fun. I don't dare try it again as with the crates update it became a grindfest (or.. paying loeds of mone)
