This game is so very good! The art direction is insanely good! The atmosphere is unique and warped in a way that makes it just a little eerie at all times!! The gameplay is simple but encounters have such variety it has yet to feel dry. I highly recommend this game to just about anyone honestly!

An absolutely wonderful game. From the very start you can feel that there is love and thought put into making this game. Despite its length I think its price tag 100% is worth the time it takes to complete. There is more than enough reason to play through more than once and all sorts of secrets to find. The story is great, the gameplay is fun and gives your the ability to choose how you play and the vibes are unmatched. I would highly recommend this game to just about anyone

Early Access Review
Ive played the previous Baldur's gate games (including icewind dale) and both the Divinity Original Sin games and I have truly enjoyed the the early access so far. The game doesn't feel like a Baldur's Gate game or a straight up Divinity reskin, if feels like something in between with a hint of Dragon Age splashed on top. While rough in some areas with animations and performance (it is early access and all) I truly have enjoyed the time ive placed into the game already.

I enjoy the combat and the ability to swap characters next to each other for certain plays, and I think the turn based system fits the way the game should be played. This is nothing against BG1&2, rather a personal preference as i like Turnbased combat more than Real Time Strategy. The way spells and and surfaces affect the world and how you implement strategy feels much more balanced than in the Divinity games and the game makes great use of the Action and Bonus Action combat of 5e.

Npc's and party members seem a bit harsh in some regards and are difficult to please at times, it makes me feel pressured to choose my actions based on them and not how I want to play the game. Its also difficult to gauge how each one will react, while Wyll and Gale I figured out really fast, Astarion and Shadowheart confused me so much. It felt like too many decisions affect their mood without a gauge of where your standing is with them. A few of them being jaded all the time doesn't bother me though, their situation sucks and they wanna fix it ASAP, while as a player we know that its just the story and we can do it at our own pace, the characters dont and their pissed off nature makes sense. But at the point im at right now, my main party, wyll, and I get along well, and I feel like that pissed off nature is dissolving and ya know, they actually like me.
In regards to some of the skill checks being unfair or the outcomes being unsavory, I actually really liked it. I understand the completionist attitude of wanting to pass every persuasion check, succeed on every passive insight during dialogue, or have everything go your way based on a good roll but thats not DND. *Spolier* I think specifically to the mind flayer that's crushing a rock at the beginning, and how a good Intelligence check to reach into its mind has a negative outcome. And its upsetting that a good check has a bad outcome, but thinking about it logically, as level 1-2 characters it makes sense. We just got the tad pole, we havent had the chance to perfect it or learn it yet, but thats a mind flayers home turf and its gonna kick our ass in it.

Basically what i wanna get at in this review is the games is rough, sometimes a little unfair, and 100% up to chance in many situations, but thats the fun of it. Part of an Early Access, especially with Laraian, is for us to review the early game, report bugs, and discuss how things make us feel to help them craft a better game, and with the state its in i'm excited to see the finished project. It feels like a good DND experience that gives the player enough options and ideas to thrive in the world and I cannot recommend it enough to those who like the randomness and strategy of DND.
