Warframe stands as one of the games that did F2P properly. It's developers have taken time crafting their game, trying things out and removing them when they felt a change was needed while supporting development with fair prices, CONSTANT sales, and the love of a loyal community.

Along the way, it's become one of the few F2P games that doesn't have any real paywall. Not only is all of the content accessible without paying a single dollar, but the "pay to get something faster" aspect is open to ALL players, not just ones willing to put money in. It's trade system allow players to give out paid currency for ingame items, meaning anyone willing to put together a few decent trades can afford any of the cash shop items just through playing. 90% of the time you'll be trading away items you probably don't even want because of the variety of weapons and warframes, and the variations in playstyle.

and get this: The gameplay is good too!

Everyone talking about "space ninjas" is pretty accurate. The game provides players with a ton of mobility to play with making moving around the generated levels an absolute joy. Couple that with a wide choice of warframe and weapon styles to find just the fight fit for how you want to play, and you've got a mixture that has become a reliable fallback for a ton of players.

If you're looking for a fun, action based game with grinding that's playful instead of mind-numbing, try out Warframe. Careful though, this game does NOT hold your hand when it comes to explaining a lot of things. Thakfully the community and wiki are fantastic sources of information.
