This is my most played VR game, though that's in part due to how long the waits can be for a PVP match, which is really the game's only value IMO once you finish the campaign once. If you're looking for a singleplayer experience, it's not worth the price. Campaign can be finished in around 90 minutes, and the champion difficulty doesn't reward you for massive damage output, as you get dropped in 3-4 hits against the CPU, sometimes less on stronger characters.

Realism isn't there, as expected. Movement is strange but somewhat satisfying. Damage allegedly relies on hitting weak spots, but clearly not much. You can get dropped by a tiny jab to the body, and winning, especially on PVP, is all about getting around defense as quickly as possible, and doing massive flurries of punches, with no focus on timing or power. Head movement/blocking is pretty much unnecessary if you're just quick and persistent with your offense, which will frustrate people with any real boxing training.

It's a great workout, but gets boring unless you can find PVP matches, which isn't always possible. There is a Steam Group for this game you can chat in if you're looking for a match, but it's pretty dead.

10/10 would get told I'd get my ass kicked in real life again.

Nearly the whole campaign has reasonable difficulty scaling, albeit basic. The only difference in each enemy is height, race, and amount of damage. No variation in animation or fighting style, a tiny increase in punch frequency, other than that, every single opponent is identical. The final boss, which I've now fought around 7 times, after going undefeated through the other 9 fighters, is hilariously unbalanced and unrewarding. Each fight I've consistently been knocked down after a 3 punch flurry, but he's unfazed by a 30 power punch combo. At the end of every attempt, I see that my damage inflicted is 2 or 3 times as many as his, I hit 5x as many power punches, and 5x as many punches total. This game's fundamental mechanics are great, the hitreg is near flawless, but the game fails to strike a balance between realism, challenge, and reward.

EDIT: This game's failure's really aren't due to development, it's just that the technology isn't there yet. There's no real way to simulate realistic force, and that's most of the reason of why this isn't a great sim. You can't play the game looking for a knockout, because the game doesn't care how many bombs you land on the nose or cheek or ear, and if you go hunting for knockout punches you're going to strain your joints because you're not throwing at anything real, and you probably won't get the knockdown anyway. Other than the easier difficulties, it's all but impossible to get knockdowns without getting 2+ consecutive hits to the TINY spots that give bonus damage, which is just plainly unrealistic. To get the most out of this game, go into it with a low impact, high volume sparring mindset. It's just fine for that.

Early Access Review
I love this game. Gameplay is obviously reminiscent of TitanFall, but as F2P games go, this is up there in the pantheon. You feel like such a badass while you slide left and right, and shoot down a exo while flying in midair and firing rockets. The mechs seem to be somewhat balanced, with no awful rage inducing, and I'm not great at the game. Awesome game elements, awesome multiplayer, awsome game. Enjoy!
