Positives & Negatives

Summary:
I recommend to buy this game, but if one is not entirely set already you should wait for it on a sale.
Now then! to the meat of things,

Positives
  • It is the massive exploration that was dreamt of.
  • I find myself in stories, not written in script & dialog but originating from gameplay, which I find to be a healthy break from the norm I'm used to.
  • Inventory management. This can surely be seen in different lights but I like the risk vs reward of balancing what useful materials I can collect to what upgrades I would require to overcome challanges. (including upgrade placement, though it should be more apparent that it matters.)
  • I think of my computer as fairly old, about 3 years and this game still runs fine with that in mind.

Negatives
  • No notice yet of the promised multiplayer, this is an obvious downside for any whom is looking to play with your friends.
  • Classic newly released game issues, lagg, buggs (not that I have noticed any impeding bugs).
  • For the action seeker, this game offers hardly more than a handful of enemies in all. This is not the game for combat.

Finally a taste of adventure if you are interested still:
Surely not uncommon, but once I located a crashlanded ship turning out to surpass my own. Obviously I wanted the new one, however it was fairly damaged. With me missing resources for repairs & my old ship, which I had invested costly resources for warp travel, it proposed me the dilemma of either keeping my old ship to continue towards other goals or send me on a journey collecting various minerals with the intention of claiming the new ship. Here I chose to take the new ship and spent a good time not grinding all that much and then searching for potential traders of warp travel materials.

I personally had a overwhelmingly bad experience with this due to a more or less single game breaking issue. I do not however have a doubt that most think otherwise. For a cheap price you can try it out, but for me cheap does not matter if it does not play.

I have not played this a lot, so contentwise this review is mostly moot.

What issues I had:
  • I actually ran out of monsters.
It is very likely that I missed something but I got a full stop on progression when I had killed the monsters in my level without them respawning. This got me stuck in level and not enough to head onto further content. Simply, a dead end of the game.
  • Hardly any voice acting within the game.
Leaving me in a fast paced hack'n'slash but having me stop to read heavy paragraphs of text, breaking the flow.
  • I play Diablo 2/3 and see no reason to play this instead.
It does give variety, but I generally just get the "oh this is diablo" feel anyways.

Why you would want to get it from my perspective:
  • Cheap introduction into the hack'n'slash genre.
If you do not encounter a game breaking issue like me this will be a good cheap and fairly high production quality game to get if you want to test this genre.
  • Production quality
Good grapics, network play, good amounts of abilities & items. Sadly I have little to say in term of content.

Probably the most fun I've ever had with a FPS game. Moody levels, great co-op and versus mode for competative people that simply enables a lot of fun for a couple of friends to play.
