Pretty bad game. Basically everything in this game is just lackluster.

Most animations are too long so by the time you've cast your spell the enemy has probably already hit you. In the case of Joey you basically have to cancel his auto attacks with a dash after the enemies are dead for him to have any semblance of smoothness.

Coop is a joke. Neither the characters nor the main story are shared so if you were the guest you have to restart from scratch if you decide to play solo. You then have the awful netcode. Enemies hitting you when you're mid dodge. Enemy attacks connecting before the animation finish and trap projectiles desyncing. I've played Hero Siege when their netcode was terrible but at least that had the decency of working in your favor and not against you.

The main story is somewhat neat but the gameplay is pretty dull and uninspired. They've got very simple mechanics and nothing that sets it apart from anything else in the genre. You're basically going through a bunch of dungeons and don't get to keep any loot you find between them apart from the Morv (gold) to upgrade your gear. The only progression that's permanent is the character and gear progression and at least with the case of character progression they're pretty generic and boring.

The alternate game mode called "Family Trails" is somewhat enjoyable solo but once you play it in coop quickly you realize that the devs just added the the ability to play as 2 people without any thoughts of improving the systems. The shop and your currency is shared so you're extremely limited in the amount of items you can buy. The gemstone currency to reroll the shop and upgrade your relics are not shared but they can be somewhat rare to find between shops so if player 1 picks up the majority of them player 2 is basically left without the ability to upgrade their relics.

I want to like this game but it's incredibly hard when there are so many glaring issues with it, especially on the Coop side which I've spent the majority of my time in.

If you're thinking of playing the game solo then I'd say it's worth a try but I couldn't recommend it from a Coop standpoint.
