Bit of a rough start with the servers being overloaded, but this honestly was to be expected. Maybe wait a day or two if you are bothered by server instability.

The game itself is just what I wanted. Grinding away at your profession while watching Youtube videos and chilling with other people to build a town is great. The game honestly needs you to play in a team, so only teamwork makes the dream work :D

Is it fun? I mean, kinda. I mainly have the game open in the background when working or check it on my phone from time to time. You basically just queue up new work orders from time to time and to turn in quests that you get every few hours. The "gameplay" is pretty much just seing levels go up, hopefully getting some rare drops from skilling or combat and upgrading your gear over time. It isn't bad, but it isn't anything super special either.

What is not so great? The game has a lot of things that you can buy with real money to get an advantage, which in a game that basically just has a leaderboard that you could ever work towards is kinda annoying. Don't get me wrong, you can still play the game just fine without spending any money, but the paid advantage is real.

If there was a neutral option I would likely pick that, but alas, I can not fully recommend the game, so a thumbs down it is. I will still keep playing it though.

I am really enjoying this game so far, both the Battlefield-like mode (Warfare) and the Tarkov-like extraction mode (Operations) are fun to play and the game feels polished.

For the Operations mode: Though the game is F2P and there are clearly advantages to buying the Battle Pass, none of the items are unobtainable by F2P players. The secure container can be upgraded for free by finishing the questline, but getting as bigger secure container for spending money is also a thing in Tarkov. In the end, they gotta earn money somehow, so I won't blame them for having this kind of monetization.

The free event also give a lot of stuff out for free, which is nice.

Overall, I would recommend the game. It is free, so no harm in giving it a try :D

The game sitting at the bottom of your screen is cool. I like the idea and I think this game can be fun, but it just didn't really click for me personally. Might be because I treat YouTube etc. as second monitor content, which means that I constantly focused on the game more than whatever else was going on on my screen.

Doesn't mean it is bad in any way though, so I would still recommend checking it out if you think that the concept could work for you. The artstyle is cute and the gameplay loop (from the little I saw during my playtime) seemed decent.

It is fast paced action with loads of boom. The balancing is honestly a bit weird at times, as it feels like the medium class just outshines heavy and light in every way, but I am sure this will be worked out.

It is a lot of fun, though I got addicted way too hard right away and had to stop myself from playing "just one more game" :D
If you enjoy city builders, this game is a no-brainer to buy. Devs also seem to be great from how often updates and bug fixes are shipped.

Update: Yeah, even better now

Sadly pretty bad. The game has its cool moments and ideas, but the combat system is just trash. Kicking feels completly broken. There are many other things that just aren't good, but writing an even longer review doesn't even seem worth it. Avoid this and wait for Dark and Darker, which is a much better game.

Disclaimer: I received this game for free to test it.

Eyo is a jump and run game at its core that combines the classic jump and run gameplay with puzzles and fighting in a fun experience. While the game starts off slow, the difficulty ramps up quickly. With offensive and defensive abilities that can be customized and upgraded, the fighting part of this game is more engaging than it might seem at first sight.

At the same time, the game allows you to ignore a lot of fights and to just run through the level as fast as you can, optimizing the route on your way. By doing this, you will get bonus stars, but you will receive less of one of the resources. Due to this, you are encouraged to play levels more than once to first clear it and to then to optimize your route.

The positives: The game has a simplistic style that still feels very nicely done and hand-crafted. I really enjoyed the core gameplay loop, especially running levels to get lower times was a lot of fun to me. The difficulty of levels goes up with each level, so the game becomes more challenging quickly. I am sure that this gameplay loop can still be expanded in future updated to make it even more fun and engaging than it already is. Some levels can be frustrating at first, but once you get the hang of it, you will get further and further, working out tricks to receive no damage or to dodge enemies on the way.

The negatives: While the game is fun, it is still early access and not without flaws. This game could really use subtitles, as currently, some information is only given via audio. While this is not a big issue for most users, accessibility should always be provided for those who need it. Another big gripe I had was the missing options menu. I was unable to lower the volume of the game without opening the sound menu in Windows. This is something that every game needs, ideally right when you start the game. The same applies to rebinding keys. At the moment, the controls are on fixed keys and this can't be changed.

I talked to one of the developers about these issues and he assured me that an options menu and key rebinding will be supported in a future version, so this is good. If you can not stand fixed controls and a missing sounds menu, I would suggest waiting for this update though.

A fair warning to people with photosensitive epilepsy: This game has a day/night cycle in some levels. During the night, there will be lightning effect, turning your whole screen white. This effect is very bright and can be disorienting and I would assume that it could trigger photosensitive epilepsy. I am not sure if this feature is that great.

Overall, I enjoyed my time in Eyo and I can recommend the game. If you like challenging jump and run games, this should be a fun game for you.

The game is fun at its core, there is no doubt about that. The issues become apparent once you reach level 60 and start the grind for high-end gear. With the recent patch, both professions and the number of drops from end-game content were nerfed, making the already annoying grind absolutely unbearable. This game managed to create the most annoying progression system (high watermark system) I have encountered in an MMO so far and then made it even worse.

For now, I can not recommend this game to anyone. Starting now puts you at a huge disadvantage to everyone else since the changes only affect players that did not grind out their professions and watermarks yet. This doesn't even take into account that a lot of stuff is still broken, wars are once again in an unplayable state and a lot of servers are slowly dying, ruining any kind of immersion. It feels like the developers noticed that they didn't have enough content yet and decided that the best way to handle this would be to stretch out the content that they have for as long as possible. It is not fun and it feels like working a job instead of playing a game.

If you are thinking about giving this game a try: Wait a few months and this game might become decent enough, but it might aswell just die before it can make it to that point. Amazon Game Studios has created a relatively solid game, but the game is managed poorly and I am afraid that all of the issues and bad decisions are just too much for most players. If the next monthly patch doesn't turn things around, it is likely too late for most of the player base. I know a lot of people who have quit the game already, a lot more will follow soon.

Edit: The recent handling of a lot of issues is quite annoying. Maintenance happened, which caused more issues, resulting in the EU servers being down for hours. Yes, this can happen to any developer, but the track record here is extremly bad so far. Basically every patch caused more issues than it fixed.
