I didn't feel like I was really getting into it at first; it gives away its "secret" a bit too quickly, I felt at first. It even kind of talks about giving its secret away quickly a bit quickly, which I found somewhat predictable. What I didn't expect though is for the game to endear itself in spite of that. It does feel like you're forming a relationship with the princess as you play, even if it's in an odd, perhaps violent way. I ended up liking it more than I first thought I would.

Early Access Review: The game has that fun flow state that I appreciate in city builders. I think the army/expansion mechanic may still need some work; as others have said, the AI expands more aggressively than I think most people are able to keep with. On the whole, though, a solid game, and one I will be coming back to as it's updated.

Can't believe I haven't left a review for this gem of a game yet. Do you want to play DND but playing DND online sucks? Trouble finding a DM/are you a FOREVER DM? Play this game. It scratches the DND itch in a more organic way than even the monolithic Baldur's Gate 3 can. It's amazing. Play this game.

EDIT: I'm gonna say it, it's my new favorite game. It has ABSOLUTELY stuck with me after I shut it down; its puzzles and world-building and mystery is so good. It reveals its secrets slowly, letting you discover more and more and more; each time, once more into the labyrinth.

Game is good. Kinda falls into the "it's a metaphor for depression" camp of indie storytelling, but it is set in a wasteland full of death and decay, so...maybe expecting sunshine and rainbows is asking a bit much. I like Brainwash Gang's approach to novel video games; they seem keen on mashing up different styles such as the card mechanics with FPS in Friends VS Friends, and Metroidvania Happy Wheels wasn't a game I thought would be fun, but here we are.
