I really loved my time with the first game, and I like to play my games with tons of mods, especially if they improve the AI. The fact that you don't get progress in modded realm, forcing you to play with either dumb bot or dumb people, I can't recommend this game.

Have you ever dream to be able to marry your sister, who is also your mother ?
Have you ever dream to see the Karling dynasty getting yeeted out of europe by the Umayyad ?
Have you ever dream to go pillage rome early in the morning ?
then this game is for you (just don't get sunset invasion)

Before I start my review I want to say that :
1. I'm not a natural english so pardon me for possible mistake
2. I was not a backer on kickstarter, but I kinda follow the developement of the game.

Now, my thought about censorship : I DON'T CARE, played this game for 15hrs and I think that there were enought gore and nudity.

OVERVIEW
Here's my overview of this game as of the 06/06/2018

Let's starts with everything done right.
The overall visual of the game and its atmosphere are great, from the begining to the end the varied environments make you feel that you are in hell, add to that a good sound design and I wase genuinly spooked in some area.

Unfortunatly all this is shadowed by everything that had gone wrong.

• let's starts with the graphics :
  As I said the environements are beautiful by far but once you get closer to them they are far from beautiful, the monster are kinda ok, but then you got the martyrs which look like strait outof a PS2 games at best.
  
• Now let's talk about the story :
  Story is pretty basic, and if you know what is the inspiration behind it, you can guess what is going to happen. The problem lies with the objective, which is not going to change throughout the all game " Follow the red goddess ", which mean that sometimes you are going around for minutes before finding out where you are supose to go, the "spirit line" doesn't help much. Also, the puzzles are not that great (they are not bad but they are not good either)
  
• Now let's talk about the gameplay:
  I'm french... needless to say that I was disapointed when I saw that I couldn't change the character movement control... in a 2018 game. I know how to change my keyboard from AZERTY to QWERTY (for those who don't just do alt+shift) but my question is still here. Why can't I map the controls, or more precisely why can I map certain controls and not others ?
  And the problem doesn't stop there, because those controls are clunky at best, I have lost count of how many I got stucked in the wall or failed a plateform phase and I had to reload to the previous checkpoint.
  Talking about checkpoints, they are completely broken and uneven, you can spent 20 minutes exploring the environment because the game simply doesn't tell you what to do (in a bad way), you will then end up dying or getting stuck, you would respawn to the previous checkpoint, having to start all over again.
  
• Let's finish with the monsters :
  At first you are going to use the full potential of the stealth mecanic, but after the first chapter you are just going to run past them like a maniac. It's faster and as effective.

So here you have it my though on this game. While I don't think it deserve the hate its receiving right now. However I can't say that the game is worth 30€. So my final advice if you haven't made your mind about it yet. Just wait for more update or a better price, as of today, it is not worth it.

So Conarium is a Puzzle-horror game.
before you buy it ask yourself those questions:
Do you like puzzle game?
Do you like horror atmosphere?
Do you like H.P Lovecraft?
If you answer yes then you will certainly enjoy this game.

gameplay wise, I find some interaction with object and the inventory a bit disturbing at first, it's not a common "drag and drop" system, but I get used to it.

the global environment is great, +1 for the footprints that remain in the snow.
For the graphic and engine, well it's the unreal engine so it's pretty good too.

Overall a great game, not necessary a must have but a great game.

Take two.... you failed miserably with the all OpenIV thing... I'm really disapointed.
Mods were the only thing that could have made me play this game again... well not anymore

après 50 heures de jeu sur mon premier HoI. l'expérience est plutôt plaisante, assez facile a prendre en main pour un débutant. A noter une IA qui peut sembler douteuse par moment. Vraiment un bon jeu de stratégie comme Paradox sait les faires.
