Genre: Realistic, Historical RPG

Description:
An RPG that doesn't immediately throw you into action with a sword in hand.
You start out living a simple peasant's life in the middle ages, doing errands, disobeying parents, and pulling pranks with your friends. ♥♥♥♥ gets real when you're faced with a war you never wanted to be a part of.

Note: I am a Barron backer since Kickstarter. I've followed the events of the game's development, and I can tell you that the devs have actively supported the community and released update almost every week throughout the last few years they've been working at it.

Performance: 9/10
The developers have really worked out the bugs and animation issues since Alpha/Beta. I highly commend them for bringing us a finished title - an Indie game that plays like a AAA title should. The game could still use a bit of optimization, as I can't afford to run at Ultra settings with a 1080ti alone. Of course, I was streaming, so that may have had a strong impact. 2x 1080ti SLI shreds this game, however.

Graphics: 9/10
Some characters have better modelled faces than others, which suggests some characters are more important to the plot than others. The animations are decent, but can't compete with Witcher 3 in that regard. My biggest complaint is the low-res grass, but it's hard to tell from a distance.

Audio: 9/10
Music and voicing is really good. Although, on occasion, I noticed that voice clips have a different quality. I have 600 Ohm headphones and great hearing, so I could definitely tell. I understand it's difficult to re-voice a bunch of lines, so I'll let it slide since most people wouldn't ever notice.

Worldbuilding: 10/10
This game is very story driven, and plays more like a long movie or TV series would. Your character gets injured, can bleed if not treated, gets sick, consumes food and requires sleep. Just needs to drink and ♥♥♥♥ and we're 100% Medieval! The worldbuilding is a huge priority in this game, and so far, I am thoroughly impressed. When I treat it as such, it becomes a very immersive experience.

Replayability: 10/10
This game plays in semi-ironman mode, where you can't save on the spot without buying special potions. You get only 3 save slots, and the game will always overwrite the oldest save. I've already made a ton of mistakes but kept going, but I can see a new runthrough being interesting since I can take another approach to things. This game gets a little addicting since it's not easy to do anything - you always feel in danger, sometimes helpless, and you're a poor peasant most of the time that doesn't just get piles of free crap every minute like in other games. When looting, heavy emphasis on selection of loot as the character can only carry a small amount of weight - and can barely equip armor without burden, when untrained. So far, I can see myself playing this for at least a few hundred hours without getting bored.

TLDR: It's Mount & Blade with a story, without an army.
