Early Access Review
A fun and original take on the MOBA genre. The game was created by passionate developers who originally created the game as a free mod for Warcraft 3. The basic gameplay is simple, but there are enough layers of complexity laid over it to make for tons of decisions and strategies to outplay your opponents from match to match.

The mechanics are solid, the performance is great, the music and sound effects are great, the art is great. There's really not much to complain about. There is a bit of a learning curve due to all the systems you'll interact with, but they have optional short and long tutorials to help get you started, and you can usually get by just knowing the basics to start. The cosmetic crafting system is a bit overly complicated and the crafting UX isn't great right now, but it's just cosmetics so no big deal. They do need to figure out how to make it better to use though since it seems to be their main way of funding the game.

Overall I really like the game's personality and have had a lot of fun playing it. Look forward to future content and polish as the game progresses through early access.

A fun and solid time-trial game. Not as many features as a game like Trackmania, but this is easier to learn, has nice chill vibes, and no subscription fees. Try the free demo out first if you aren't sure about it.

Astounding RTS made by a devoted pair of developers. Definitely worth checking out. The campaign and co-op features may not be as fleshed out as something like Starcraft II, but it's still a high quality RTS experience which is rare to come by these days. It's also in Early Access so it still has a chance to prove itself even further at launch.

Solid, polished, fun, funny, challenging. Everything I loved from the first game but with way more production value.

This remake provides well thought out enhancements while still capturing the spirit and charm of the original. This is more than a fresh coat of paint, they've made some really interesting changes and additions to the mechanics to make exploration, combat, and leveling more interesting.

Enemy encounters now are visible and avoidable. If you choose to, you can round up multiple encounters and chain them together into a continuous sequence of battles that will be more challenging but also more rewarding. You are also incentivized to perform well in combat by earning buffs. These buffs can be earned both through good execution, such as timing your parries perfectly, or through good strategy, such as using the right moves that will break the enemies stagger bar.

Music has been rearranged and sounds great, with an option to use the original. Unfortunately it doesn't sound like they were able to make live orchestral recordings, but it's about as close as you can get. Voice acting is decent and you can select from English or Japanese for text and voice independently.

Fast travel is available right from the start and allows you to teleport between and within all of the visited locations that are currently accessible. There are tons of skills to unlock, challenges to complete, and secrets to discover. Overall this stands as an excellent RPG for both new and old fans.

A solid, fun, happy platformer. You have the option to get competitive with built-in time trial leaderboards for each level.

A fun concept, but lacking in content at the moment (as of early access release).

The cell grid is a cool concept that leads to some interesting moment-to-moment decision making, especially if you choose the option to manually expand the trigger ring. Enemy variety is fairly low right now with three or four basic enemy types and one mini-boss. There are only 10 weapons and upgrades you can find, and you get to choose from 3 random ones each time you find an power up, so you can usually find what you're looking for. Runs take about 10-25 minutes each and there is only one game mode and difficulty, so once you've beaten the game there isn't a whole lot to work towards other than hunting achievements and unlocking all of the meta-progression upgrades, which can be done in a few hours outside of some of the more grindy achievements.

It's a decent foundation, and hopefully the developers can continue adding interesting content to it while maintaining the aspects that feel good right now.

Early Access Review
It has some rough edges but no more than I would expect from a new Early Access title. As a free game I would say it's definitely worth checking out if you enjoy top-down PvP action games.

The monetization as it stands now doesn't seem too egregious. It starts you out with 2 starter heroes plus your selection of a pack of 4 based on which role you prefer to play. Unlocking more heroes through gameplay happens very quickly. 2 days worth of daily quests is enough to unlock any hero, even disregarding the currency you get for playing games. All cosmetics for the most part seem to be purchasable with real money currency only.

The biggest issues the game has right now are probably the relatively large number of bugs, and the small player count. With a bit more polish and a solid ranked experience I would be happy the put some more time into this game.

Beautiful layered 2D graphics and an engrossing atmosphere. Ghost Song may not be as action packed as some similar games, but I kind of prefer it that way. The world is creepy and mysterious, but also charming in a way that makes me want to avoid just blasting away and killing everything I see. As someone who enjoys immersive exploration, I'm definitely feeling satisfied just unraveling this game's many secrets. At $20 It feels like there is plenty of interesting content to keep you engaged for a while.
