Battle for Bikini Bottom is a game i have always held dearly to me as it was the first game i had ever played.
Recently it has become a tradition for me to 100% the game once a year to celebrate the game that stated my love for video games.

Needless to say when this game's remake known as Rehydrated was announced i was very hyped for this game. now that the game is out i have some mixed feelings overall.

First lets just cut straight to the chase. This game looks fantastic, Each level has been pumped full of life and it was worth playing through just to see the sights of Bikini Bottom like this. The extra animations for dialogue also help let certain jokes land better and it brought a smile to my face many times~!

Another addition was some move tweaks to the cast of playable characters. In the original i always felt like when ever i was forced to play as Sandy and Patrick i would be annoyed by their more limited movesets. However in Rehydrated almost all my problems from the casts movesets have been fixed, Patrick, who in the original I disliked playing as the most, can now attack in midair which helps him fight certain robots he had trouble with in the original. Likewise Sandy now has the ability to lasso robots and tiki's in midair which helps when fighting "G-love" robots. Even Spongebob the one who's moveset worked perfectly fine got the ability to bubble bash in mid air after one jump.

With all this said i have two main issues with the game, and this is where the whole Mixed opinions come in.
My first issue is the high amount of bugs that occurred during my playthough was very distracting and the other Issue is with how the "Added cut content" thing was handled. i won't lie i do sorta feel lied to as the single player mode is completely the same, No beta Patrick dream, No Robot Squidward, No missing phase of the final boss readded. Nothing. i can't help but be bummed out as this was one of the things i was most looking forward to. Instead any "Cut content" has been lazily throw into one of the worst mutiplayer modes i have ever seen. its a huge missed opportunity as you don't even fight the Squidward robot it's self.
That mutiplayer mode is awful... Just awful...

i could yell about BfBB and Rehydrated for hours but you get the point
As it stands i still believe the original shines brighter as the more polished version however Rehydrated is still great and i still can't believe this game was made~
Hopefully with some patches to the bugs this game will become better then it already is

PS. WHY PURPLE LAMP DID YOU REPLACE THE CONCEPT ART IN THE THEATER WITH RANDOM ASS SCREEN SHOTS FROM IN GAME I DID NOT JUST GRIND FOR 40,000 SHINY OBJECTS FOR 5 STUPID SCREENSHOTS
