This is a hidden gem! As an RTS enjoyer, this hits the spot. The AI can be pretty challenging and the community is pretty great so far. The map generation is also pretty nice with the ability to save seeds you've enjoyed. Greatly recommend the game.

You see, that's how you make a sequel. I easily played above a hundred hours in the first game and I feel like this will easily happen with this one as well. Why is it so good? Well that's simple.

- They didn't break the spirit of the game.
The factions and systems are almost identical. You open the game and feel right at home. They also put effort in fleshing out the existing factions in order to bring out what defined them in a realistic way. (Man, starting as a Vasari, you don't have a planet and you enter the system as if you're really running away from something, ain't that crazy!?)
- Improvements are fluid and complements what was already in place.
The improvements include things like stability, UI improvement and optional quality of life like the shifting lanes.

Many games, especially RTS in the last years have failed to follow these two major points and I think it's important to capitalize how the devs and publisher respected their audience by releasing a game that was an amazing finished product. Not a half-baked product hastily put together with no love for the lore like so many games are throwing right now with an insane price tag.

Thank you Ironclad and Stardock for releasing this wonderful game.

Honestly, I had a blast with this game. Finished my first playthrough not long ago. I was itching for a casual building game and I felt right at home. It had been a while since a game was able to get me this excited. Getting water, seeing the plants grow, I was really proud.

The game keeps you on edge with attacks, the amount of ressources available(can be fixed with mod) and with your own ability to generate too much O2 because you like seeing this grass the and trees grow(which will in turn allow Mars to burn to ashes).

Some people have commented on replayability, I can sort of understand that. You always terraform Mars. It's the planet itself so it doesn't change. However, there are multiple endings to explore if you play the story mode which, to be honest, blew my mind.

Overrall, it's a really good game in my opinion and I'll come back to it after some time I'm sure.

Alright, people need to stop being pissy. After release, people have been complaining about performance issues. I'm running an ok PC. RTX 2070 Super and 5 Ryzen 3600 with enough RAM and I have absolutely no idea what people are on about when they're referring to the performance issues.

I haven't touched the settings, only glossed over them. My settings were put to high by the game and I left them that way. No stuttering, game is smooth. Just some slight problems when I try to do 25 things at the same time.

If all those bad reviews are scaring you and you have similar or better specs than mine, just ignore them. I've been having fun from what I've seen, some things were taken from Cities expansions straight into vanilla game which is great in my opinion too.

Just don't hop on the scare-train and give it a try.

Only thing that's a bummer for me is the number of radio channels but that'll get buffed in no time i'm sure!

Have fun people!

So, I've been playing this game for about 10 years or more before it even got on Steam. Take it from somebody who used to play on the very first maps sketches of this game.

Lots of people will be complaining about the pay to win mechanics of this game. However, in my opinion, Goldmarks(premium money) is so expansive in this game that barely anyone has any. You also get some from every game you end while still having territory.

Lots of misconceptions about this game. Game is really good, slow paced, you have to plan ahead, use your ressources wisely and use diplomacy and cunning to end in the top 10 of 100 people maps.

Community can be really nice and won't ever shun you from trying to understand the game better.

It's a good game but not for everyone. A game can take up 2-3 months and troops can take days to cross your country at some point.

Still think it's a great game and that you should give it a try!

Well, I bought this game a really long time ago and now, it's been released. It's been in beta more than 10 years long. I'd really like to recommend this game, it's so much fun. Sometimes it gets pretty frustrating but no game is ever the same. One game you get out of town, try to get some copper to make some money, oops, slaver get you and now you gotta get out of slavery. Another game you'll be able to build a bustling city with a rich economy or maybe you'll be a robot trying to exterminate humankind.

Whatever you try to do, it's always a ton of fun and i'm grateful to Lo-Fi games for releasing such a great game :)

10/10 would exterminate humankind once again
