The Long Dark is a beautiful, immersive game. In it's current state you can spend a lot of time enjoying the two connected maps in Sandbox mode.

The gap between difficulties is vast however, and the amount of loot is laughably small in Hard whereas in Medium mode I was swimming in gear and calories early on. I explored and looted both maps but eventually became bored. There is plenty of replay value with Hard mode, however, and a new map will definitely bring me back regardless.

I have high hopes for this game's future and believe it's worth picking up in it's current state.
